What is a boss?

A boss is a person who is in charge of a worker, group, or organization. A boss can be used in many different contexts. Sometimes, people may refer to their manager as their boss, and that manager reports to someone else who is their boss, and that can continue all the way up to the CEO or the owner of the company.

It is possible to be at the top of that pyramid, and then you can be your own boss. This is often done by starting and running your own business. Being a boss can be exciting, but it also requires additional responsibility and may include additional specialization and education in many instances.
