This question is about alcohol and drug counselor certifications.
CADC certification is Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor certification. You do not necessarily need to hold CADC certification to work in the recovery and addiction field, but it is extremely beneficial for finding a position and standing out among other candidates.
There are three levels of CADC: I, II, and III. The level a counselor holds depends on their experience. A CADC I must have 2,080 supervised hours and hold an associate's degree. A CADC II requires at least 6,000 supervised hours. A CADC III requires a bachelor's degree and more supervised working hours. Most CADC levels I and II will go on to acquire bachelor's degrees.
