What is a CDA certification?

A CDA certification is a Child Development Associate certificate. This is the simplest and cheapest way to advance a career in early childhood care and education. It is valid in all 50 states, and also in Puerto Rico, Guam, and the Virgin Islands.

To gain the CDA certification you must meet these requirements:

120 hours of qualified professional development (This is usually obtained through a CDA training course)
480 hours of professional work experience in childcare or education
You must pass the Child Development Associate Certificate exam, this test is offered by Pearson VUE at a designated examination site
You must pass a verification visit
You also must submit a professional portfolio to be reviewed
