What is a project management associate?
A project management associate is someone who works under project management to help a project or projects make it complete. You will typically see this role in larger companies where a project manager handles multiple tasks.
A project management associate works in tandem with program managers and project directors. Project management associates may be asked to participate during all phases of the project management process.
Under the guidance of the project director or program manager, associate project managers may perform such tasks as schedule and conduct project meetings, communicate assignments and expectations to project team members, and track the completion of project deliverables to ensure the quality and integrity of all project-related products.
Project management associates typically perform many administrative tasks such as communicating project information to stakeholders, designing templates, creating presentations, and reviewing project deliverables.
Associate project managers also help resolve project conflicts, identify resource requirements and align the project team on project scope. They observe existing project management practices and propose improvements for process efficiency.
