What is the AV industry?
The AV industry includes any product or service related to audio and visual production. Everything from televisions to interactive AI is part of the AV industry.
The AV industry serves two distinct types of consumers. Residential consumers utilize AV products and services in their homes for both entertainment and work needs. From whole-house sound systems to wireless internet connectivity, AV products and technicians can create an entertainment experience that reflects the ever-changing and developing field of AV technology.
Business represents the other sector serviced by the AV industry. While once viewed as a luxury in the business world, the use of AV in various commercial fields is now standard. The medical community relies on imaging and communication, and patient access to information that is advanced through the use of AV systems. Similarly, education has recently been required to rely on a distanced learning model dependent on AV equipment and technology.
The AV industry had, prior to 2020, projected its growth based on economic conditions. When earnings were good, the industry profited. While conditions through 2022 were not ideal for an industry often viewed as a luxury, it did reveal a real need for AV technology in previously unidentified areas.
