What is the capital one hierarchy?

By Kate Swindlehurst - Apr. 2, 2023

The hierarchy of Capital One has analysts on the bottom, followed by associates, assistant vice presidents, vice presidents, executive directors, and managing directors. Within these groups, there are often specific hierarchies that you can work up to throughout your career.

The bottom of the Capital One hierarchy includes analysts. Within analysts, there are entry-level analyst positions where people first begin working.

They can move on to senior analyst positions with more experience. From there, they can choose to go into associate positions, although some stay as senior analysts for the entirety of their careers.

Any position past associate is also a common ending spot for many people and positions. Associates can become senior associates, which then transition into assistant vice presidents. Then you can become a vice president. There are more than a few vice presidents. Finally, above vice presidents are the director positions, which include executive director.

Executive directors report to managing directors. Managing directors are at the top of the hierarchy, although there are still some much larger positions above them, such as the CEO, who holds more power but has a different hierarchy and plan of advancement.
