The career path for an esthetician includes jobs as a wax/hair removal specialist. clinical esthetician, and a medical spa manager. Becoming an esthetician takes anywhere between 600-1,000 hours of training. An esthetician candidate must also pass a state license exam once they complete their training. The exam consists of written and hands-on portions.

Estheticians can take many different paths. They can work in salons, spas, or resorts. They can also work as manicurists, pedicurists, and makeup artists. Some estheticians work in marketing, purchasing, and consulting. They can also choose to take a path into the medical community as a paramedical esthetician or trainer.

These skills also include scheduling, phone skills, and organization. Many of the skills can be used in different front-end customer service jobs across many industries.
