What is the hiring process at Berkshire Hathaway?

1. Application: Prospective employees are encouraged to explore the Berkshire Hathaway careers webpage and get information on Berkshire Hathaway's business, culture, and available jobs.

   Once an opportunity of interest has been identified, prospects are encouraged to apply via Berkshire Hathaway official website. They will not accept in-person applications.

   On the website, you will be prompted to create an online profile if you don't already have one. Once you have signed up, you will be able to submit your application.

   After you have submitted your application, you will be able to update your profile, apply to jobs, and monitor your application status using the online portal.

   Please note that a full COVID-19 vaccination may be a condition of employment depending on the role and location of the job. If you have concerns, please discuss this with a member of the internal recruitment team.

2. Assessments: While assessments are not required for all positions, there are some where this step will be a part of the process. The assessment test usually varies based on the position, but may involve English or Math tests.

   The English test will focus mostly on verbal reasoning while the math test consists mostly of square roots, fractions, and basic equations. Your assessor will make sure you do not use any calculators or other aids during your tests. You will have limited time (usually 30 minutes) to complete your assessments.

3. Interview: After you submit your application (and assessments if required), it will be reviewed by a member of the internal recruitment team. If your skills seem to be a match for the role, you will be contacted to set up a phone interview.

   During the phone interview, you will discuss the role in greater detail and get to ask any questions you have regarding the role and/or the company. If you are still interested and the recruitment team feels that you are a good fit, you will move on to the in-person interview with the hiring manager.

   The in-person interview usually takes place a few weeks after the initial phone screening. This interview will involve answering behavioral questions and assessing your knowledge of the job you are applying for and how passionate you are to work for the company.

4. Offer and Onboarding: If you are selected for the role, a member of the internal recruitment team will contact you within 8 business days of your in-person interview to review the offer letter details, benefits, and more information on your new career at Berkshire Hathaway. If you are not selected, you will receive communication from a member of the Berkshire Hathaway team.

   Once you have accepted an offer, you will be asked to complete forms and start the pre-onboarding process. You will also be required to submit for a drug test and background check.
