What is the hiring process at Grubhub?

Application: Prospective employees are encouraged to explore the Grubhub careers webpage and get information on Grubhub's business, culture, and available jobs.

Prospects are encouraged to apply for opportunities via Grubhub's career page. You will be prompted to create an online profile if you don't already have one. After you submit your application, you will be able to update your profile, apply to jobs, and monitor your application status using the online portal.

Pre-screening text messages or assessments may be sent to you, or you will be contacted by a member of the internal recruitment team regarding next steps.

Please note that full COVID-19 vaccination may be a condition of employment depending on the role and location. If you have concerns, please discuss this with a member of the internal recruitment team.

Interview: If your skills seem to be a match for the role, you will be contacted to set up a phone interview to discuss the role in greater detail and ask any questions you have. If the recruitment team feels that you are a good fit, you will move on to the hiring manager interview.

This may be an in-person or video interview and usually takes place with the hiring manager and at least one team member currently working in the role you have applied for or at a similar level. This interview tends to involve scenario-based questions to gauge your personality and experience in past roles.

Typical interview questions include:

• Describe a project you are currently working on.

• What is your communication style?

• Why are you looking to leave your current job?

• How do you handle difficult personalities?

• Describe one of your biggest failures and what you learned from it.

Offer and Onboarding: If you are selected for the role, a member of the internal recruitment team will contact you to review the offer letter details, benefits, and more information on your new career at Grubhub.

Once you have accepted an offer, you will be asked to complete forms and start the pre-onboarding process. You will also be required to submit to a background check. The internal recruitment team member will provide you with more detailed information on how to complete these steps.
