This question is about new hire checklist.
The onboarding process is a process that helps new employees acquire the necessary skills, knowledge, and behaviors in order to become effective employees. There are typically four stages of the onboarding process, which include preboarding, onboarding and welcoming new employees, training, and transition.
Preboarding is a step where you send information to the new employee after they have accepted the offer but before their first day of work. This information includes the employee handbook, corporate overview, benefits information, dress code, and any other information that is important as an overview before beginning work.
The onboarding and welcoming begin right on the first day of work. During this time, new employees are introduced to people at work. They also should become familiar with company culture, development plans and policies, and a general understanding of the layout of the office.
Training is next, and it is arguably the most important step of the onboarding process. It helps employees be given support and time to understand their new role and how they can best be successful. This may include seminars, instruction, mentoring, or shadowing.
The transition stage is the final stage, and it is where a new employee transitions from any additional help, such as shadowing or mentoring, into working as a full-fledged team member at the company.
