What is the workers' compensation appeals board?

The Workers' Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB) exercises all judicial powers vested by the Labor Code in a reasonable manner. It also provides guidance and leadership to the workers' compensation communication through opinions on cases and regulations.

WCAB is made up of seven members and exists at a state level. It will review all relevant questions and concerns of the current laws. Its major function is to review petitions to reconsider decisions made by workers' compensation judges. If you feel there was a wrongful determination with your compensation, you may file an appeal with the WCAB.
