This question is about vet assistant resumes.
Highlights of your education, experience, skills, and passion for helping animals are what should be included on a vet resume. Your resume should demonstrate to the hiring manager that you're the best darn doggy doctor out there.
To get started, you should lead with a strong profile summary or objective. In one to four sentences, introduce yourself as a vet and what your specialty is, and what you bring to the table.
For example, "Associate veterinarian with over seven years of experience. Specialist in companion animal emergency and critical care and ACVECC diplomate. Seeking to leverage my skills to contribute to high-quality animal medical care in a challenging environment at Independence Animal Hospital."
Next, you should elaborate on the specific experiences you have working as a vet. Here, you'll want to convey your experiences through your achievements using action verbs. For example, "Experience working under pressure as a sole duty vet. Treated up to 30+ patients per day. Contributed to record financial growth and productivity of the clinic."
If you're just starting out your career as a vet, then include any clinical experience or related roles under work experience. If you don't have much experience, then take advantage of the education section to highlight your skills and qualifications via your academic achievements or clinical experience.
Include a section for your license and include which state it was issued in and the date. Also, include a section for certifications and awards if you have them. Other optional sections include volunteer work, awards, and publications.
Top skills to include on your vet resume:
Animal dentistry
Anesthesia
Emergency and critical care
Companion animal practice
Equine practice
Surgical skills
Problem-solving skills
Decision-making skills
Ability to work under pressure
Time management skills
