This question is about veterinarian.

What should I study to become a vet?

By Roger Raber - Jun. 13, 2023

To become a vet, you should study biology and other related subjects like zoology. Math and science courses may also help prepare candidates for veterinarian school.

To become a vet, candidates must first earn a bachelor's degree. A four-year degree in veterinary science, biology, general science, or zoology are the most common majors for those considering vet school. The application process to accredited veterinary training programs is competitive, so good grades are very important.

First-year vet school students typically study cell and tissue biology, veterinary ethics, and the physiology of domestic animals. By the time students have reached their third year of vet school, their focus includes coursework such as veterinary anesthesiology and small animal surgery.

The final year of vet school is typically spent conducting clinical rotations meant to provide hands-on experience and allow aspiring vets to determine the area of veterinary medicine which they want to practice in.
