When should you apply for a summer internship?
You should apply for a summer internship in November of the prior year and no later than January of the year of the summer internship. Many students apply for a summer internship at the start of their spring semester in January. However, it can and sometimes should be done earlier.
You should attend networking events in the fall months of September and October. Then create a list of possible internship programs you would like to do. Ideally, you should then start to apply to internships in November.
