Who do engineers work with?

Engineers work with architects, project managers, and environmental scientists. Here is a closer look at the variety of professionals that an engineer works with:

• Architects. Engineers are known to collaborate with architects during the development and construction stages of different kinds of building projects. These professionals work together to make sure that all architectural designs are structurally correct, safe, and up to code, and also to ensure that they are technically feasible.
• Project Managers. Engineers also work with project managers on a wide variety of different types of projects. This might include software engineers working with a project lead on a software application project, or a civil engineer working with a project manager on the construction of a bridge. These are just two of many examples.
• Environmental scientists. Many engineers also work closely with environmental scientists to address environmental considerations and sustainability in the engineering projects they are currently working on. These professionals assist engineers in performing environmental assessments and many other key duties.
