Who owns NBCUniversal?
NBCUniversal is owned by Comcast. The company is an entertainment conglomerate focused on television and film content and delivery.
Comcast owned 51% of NBCUniversal, which was created in 2004 when the GE-owned NBC, and the Vivendi-owned Universal film, merged. Since 2013. Comcast wholly owns NBCUniversal, having purchased the remaining 49% from General Electric.
NBCUniversal has numerous cable networks, including Bravo, CNBC, and the USA Network. In 2018, the company took over SKY pic, roughly doubling its footprint in English-speaking entertainment markets. It is currently helmed by Chairman Steve Burke and CEO Jeff Shell.
NBCUniversal's parent company, Comcast, generated $116 billion in revenue last year.
