Your role and responsibilities

Delivery & Transformation Leadership
Lead design and delivery of end‑to‑end Customer & Commerce transformation programs leveraging AI, data, and automation.

Hybrid: Your work location of City, State was assigned based on business need and currently your role designated as a hybrid role. Hybrid roles are expected to perform their primary duties from a combination of IBM location, client sites or work at home. Leaders are expected to spend time with their teams and clients and therefore are generally expected to be in the workplace a minimum of three days a week, subject to business needs.
Required technical and professional expertise
10+ years of consulting experience in Customer Experience, Commerce, or Digital Transformation.
Proven success leading large‑scale transformation programs ($10M+ TCV).
Deep expertise across front‑office domains-CRM, Commerce, Marketing, and Service-supported by technology platform experience (e.g., Salesforce, SAP CX, Adobe, etc.).
Track record in sales and business development, including pipeline creation, solutioning, and proposal leadership.
Strong executive presence and ability to engage C‑suite stakeholders.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills in global, cross‑functional environments.
Preferred technical and professional experience

**Introduction** We are seeking an experienced Go-to-Market and Business Development Leader to spearhead our Application Modernization offering. This offering leverages Generative AI and agentic AI on hybrid cloud to modernize clients' legacy IT applications, unlocking advanced intelligence and efficiency across industries. In this role, you will define and execute the global go-to-market strategy, tailor solutions to industry-specific needs, and drive rapid adoption of our modernization services. Success will be measured by sales pipeline growth, deal signings, new client acquisitions, and broad market adoption of our AI-driven modernization solutions - including influence with industry analysts and deep partnerships with hyperscalers (AWS, Microsoft, Google).
**Your role and responsibilities**
* Go-to-Market Strategy & Revenue Growth: Develop and execute a global GTM strategy for the Application Modernization offering, aligning cross-functional teams (sales, marketing, delivery) around clear growth objectives. Focus on accelerating pipeline generation and deal closure to meet or exceed revenue targets and signing goals. Continuously refine market segmentation and priorities, balancing a broad cross-industry approach with targeted plays in key verticals.
* Thought Leadership & Offering Definition: Provide strong thought leadership to shape the offering's value proposition and roadmap. Identify emerging trends (e.g. GenAI, agent-based automation) and integrate them into our services to address client challenges. Define client needs and craft compelling modernization solutions that address technical debt, legacy system risks, and cloud adoption challenges in each sector. Serve as the "voice of the offering," articulating our strategy and differentiation to clients, partners, and industry analysts.
* Strategic Client Engagement: Engage directly with C-level executives and client stakeholders to understand business objectives and legacy pain points. Play a lead role in guiding clients' modernization journeys - from initial assessments through solution envisioning and value case development. Shape proposals and consulting engagements that demonstrate how our GenAI-powered approach will drive tangible business outcomes (improved agility, cost savings, faster time-to-market, etc.). Ensure high client satisfaction and referenceability by overseeing delivery handoff and tracking realized value.
* Alliance & Ecosystem Partnerships: Forge strong partnerships with major cloud and technology providers (especially AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud) to enhance our offering's capabilities and market reach. Collaborate on joint go-to-market initiatives and co-sell strategies that position our services alongside partner platforms. Also engage with ISV partners, data/AI platform providers, and advisory firms to create a robust ecosystem supporting our modernization practice. Leverage these alliances to tap into partner channels, earn vendor endorsements, and stay at the cutting edge of hybrid cloud and AI innovations.
* Market Presence & Analyst Relations: Act as a public thought leader for application modernization with AI. Represent the company at conferences, webinars, and industry panels, sharing insights on modernizing legacy estates with GenAI and agentic automation. Publish white papers or blog posts to educate the market and fuel demand. Proactively manage relationships with industry analysts (Gartner, Forrester, etc.), ensuring our offering is well-understood and favorably positioned in evaluations. Drive external recognition (e.g. strive for leadership rankings in relevant market reports) as a means to build credibility and trust in our solutions.
* Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure successful offering execution. Work with Product/Engineering to refine solution accelerators and reference architectures. Partner with Delivery and Practice teams to ensure we have the required skills, methodologies, and capacity for scaling modernization projects. Enable the worldwide salesforce with training, playbooks, and case studies so they can effectively sell the offering. Guide regional business development leads by sharing best practices, monitoring progress, and mentoring them on executing the GTM playbook. Adjust strategies based on feedback and market dynamics to continuously improve results.

**Required technical and professional expertise**
* Leadership in Tech Go-to-Market: 10+ years of experience in technology services go-to-market, sales, or business development, with a proven track record of driving revenue growth for complex solutions. Experience formulating and executing GTM strategies at a global or multi-region level. Demonstrated ability to build and manage a high-volume sales pipeline and consistently exceed targets.
* Domain Expertise: Deep knowledge of application modernization, cloud platforms (hybrid/multi-cloud), and modern IT architectures. ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
This role supports the technical delivery of solutions to end-customers that bridge Operational Technology (OT) and Information Technology (IT), with an emphasis on cloud, edge and enterprise integrations. Your efforts will enable Wind River to implement integrated solutions using cloud platforms in real-world industrial and enterprise environments. You will position and provide support for Wind River's portfolio including eLxr Pro Linux, Studio Operator and other Wind River Edge products as needed. Depending on customer needs, you will be involved in integration projects that include enterprise platforms such as ServiceNow and cloud platforms such as Wind River's Cloud Platform, particularly in the context of OT/IT workflows and automation. The solutions you will support address complex challenges of deploying physically distributed clouds at scale and managing highly available and secure platforms for modern enterprise applications.
You should have experience in software, systems, or infrastructure engineering, with familiarity in cloud platform and distributed systems. Exposure to OT systems (e.g. SCADA, PLCs, industrial protocols) is a strong plus. You must be capable of understanding the end customers' problems and whiteboarding solutions using our product offerings and services. You should also understand software or infrastructure deployment cycles and be comfortable working in both IT and OT-oriented environments. Some amount of travel will be required.
Interface & Collaboration
Report directly to the Senior Director of Sales and Field Applications Engineers. You will be an integral part of sales team and the broader community of solution architects and specialized Account Managers/Directors and strive to become the trusted technical advisor to our partners and customers by understanding their business needs and addressing those needs through Wind River's products, services, and solutions. Core Competencies & Demonstrated Success
Be hands-on in supporting the development and testing of PoCs for OT/IT integrated solutions.
Familiarity with open-source projects such as StarlingX, Kubernetes is a must.
Knowledge of modern enterprise IT infrastructure, private/hybrid cloud platforms, Telco Core/RAN, OSS/BSS and application performance management tools is a strong plus.
Familiarity with enterprise platforms like ServiceNow, particularly in the integration or automation context, is a strong plus.
Exposure to OT environments such as industrial automation, SCADA systems, PLCs, or industrial protocols is a strong plus.
Experience explaining technical concepts to large audience, comfort, and confidence in front of customers.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have 7-10 years of experience in solutions architecture, systems engineering, or OT/IT in the following areas:
Solid understanding of OT systems and their integration with enterprise IT and Cloud platforms (data center, edge, and public/private cloud).
Experience with system-level solution design, including workload orchestration, networking (switching, routing) and integration with enterprise platforms such as ServiceNow is preferred.
Familiarity with virtualization, containers, Kubernetes, OpenStack, and cloud-native technologies and orchestration tools.
Linux background covering deployment, image build, application, and kernel development and familiarity with various programming languages (C++, C) and scripting languages (Python, Perl) is preferred.
Must have English language skills enabling business discussion/dialogue.
Travel at short notice availability required up to 25%.

Compensation
The annual base salary range for this role's listed grade level is $130,000 to $170,000 plus a bonus for Colorado, New York, and New Jersey residents, and $140,000 to $185,000 plus a bonus for SF Bay Area, Greater Seattle, NYC, and Washington, DC, residents. Salary ranges are determined through interviews and a review of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities of the applicant, and equity with other team members. Employees in this role are also eligible for the following benefits in accordance with the terms of the Company's plans: health, dental, vision insurance, life insurance, flex time off, eligibility to enroll in 401k, and 12 paid holidays.
