Responsibilities:
Designs, develops, modifies and evaluates electronic parts, components or integrated circuitry for electronic equipment, or other hardware systems and/or electrical engineering applications.
Execute engineering projects and development of electromechanical systems including power distribution, vacuum systems, high voltage, control systems, robotics, safety interlocks and electro-static chuck technologies.
Ensures adherence to the development process including requirements planning, schedule estimates, concept reviews, design reviews, verification, and validation test plans.
Provide electrical engineering interface to the design services group and to offshore teams to deliver quality designs and on-time performance.
Analyzes equipment to establish operating data, conducts experimental tests and evaluates results.
Ensures designs meet design objectives as well as safety, industry (SEMI), and customer specific requirements.
Selects components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability.
May also review vendor capability to support product development.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related required.
Minimum of 5 years of experience of electrical/electronic hardware design as an individual contributor.
Must have one or more of the following skills: Systems engineering, High-voltage, RF power, PCB design, Power Distribution.
Preferred Qualifications:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience conducting technical design reviews with a larger group.
Experience working with engineering change notices in formal change process
Design skills with Altium, PADS, PSpice
Experience with Creo Schematic, Creo Cabling, AutoCad is a plus.
Windchill experience a plus
Semiconductor capital equipment experience a plus

$124,924.40 - $187,386.60
This base salary range reflects the typical compensation for this role across U.S. locations.
Our salary ranges are determined by role and level; individual pay is determined based on

location, and internal equity. The range provides the opportunity for growth and progression as
you develop within the role.
Base pay is one part of our U.S. total compensation package which includes eligibility in the

Hands-on Electrical Engineer responsible for designing electrical and control panels used in liquid cooling system products with both high and low voltages. This person would work with a small team of mechanical, refrigeration and manufacturing engineers to bring the new product though its full product development process, which includes early concepts thru production support. The candidate would be responsible for electrical component selection, schematic and wire run list creation, designing control solutions (functional control logic and PID control loops for temperature, flow and pressure) and PCBA / PLC control firmware. Key Responsibilities
Control System Design & Integration:
Develop control system architectures
Design and implement control algorithms to dynamically adjust cooling capacity based on real-time data (e.g., temperature, humidity, load).
Integrate sensors, controllers, and actuators to monitor and control cooling systems.
Create and update electrical schematics and control diagrams cooling systems.
Programming & Commissioning:
Program and configure controllers and develop HMI interfaces tailored to system cooling operations.
Commission, test, and validate control systems, ensuring smooth startup and reliable performance.
Troubleshoot and resolve control system issues.
Collaboration & Project Management:
Work closely with teams to ensure cooling solutions meet performance requirements.
Participate in cross-functional design reviews, providing technical insights on cooling control challenges and opportunities.
Assist in planning, scheduling, and budgeting for data center cooling projects and retrofits.
Documentation:
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for control system designs and programming changes.
Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for production cooling systems.
Develop and execute verification test plans.
Compliance & Safety:
Ensure that all cooling control systems comply with relevant industry standards and safety regulations (e.g., UL/CE guidelines).
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field.
Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., HVAC, refrigeration) a plus.
Experience:
5+ years of experience in designing, programming, and maintaining control systems.
3+ years of hands-on experience with PLC programming, HMI development, and integration of sensor networks.
Working experience with communications protocols, i.e. RS-232, RS-485, ethernet, SNMP, rest API, etc.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong understanding of control systems, automation, and cooling fundamentals (thermal management, airflow, and load balancing).
Proficient in creating and interpreting electrical schematics and control logic diagrams.
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
Working knowledge of engineering tools:
PLM software
MRP software (Oracle cloud a plus)
Knowledgeable / experienced in working with mixed signal oscilloscopes, DVMs etc.

What a typical day looks like:
Define and own the system-level specifications for CDU products.
Lead the development of system models that characterize both steady-state and transient responses of coolant distribution units.
Lead the design of controls architecture and sensing infrastructure for CDUs.
Drive the development of controls and sensing algorithms.
Develop comprehensive test plans for controls, sensing, and software validation.
Collaborate with the product team to address controls and sensing-related DFMEA and PFMEA mitigation strategies.
Analyze test and performance data to refine control algorithms and update system models.
Identify opportunities for performance improvement and support R&D efforts evaluating future enhancements.
Contribute to a strong best-practice culture and help expand foundational knowledge and intellectual property.
Lead root cause investigations for system failures.
The experience we're looking to add to our team:
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
Minimum of 5 years of post-collegiate experience working in hardware product development, preferably in the data center cooling, automotive, aerospace, medical, or nuclear industries.
Proven ability to develop hardware, control systems, and comprehensive system specifications.
Strong communication skills with a demonstrated ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and support effective software integration.

The Principal System Algorithms & Controls Engineer leads and provides expertise in the development, characterization and testing of control software and hardware in medical devices.
