Information will be posted in the lifeguard office prior to classes. If you do not attend a re-certification class, you are responsible for updating the certification in order to be eligible to continue employment. Safety Accident prevention is achieved through knowledge, understanding and assertive enforcement of all rules, policies and procedures. Taking action before an incident happens can eliminate problems before they surface. If an accident does arise, proper rescues/first aid and reports must be completed to the highest standard. Public Relations Communicate between lifeguards, patrons, and other staff in a calm, polite, and rational manner. Providing for patron safety starts by educating them as to rules and policies. Be assertive, ask questions and offer assistance. Fitness Standards Lifeguards are expected to maintain a fitness level that allows for efficient and effective water rescues and provides for the performance of skills. The following will be required at all in-services or upon request. Failure to complete may result in suspension or termination. Swimming Skill Standards Performance Parameters 300 yd swim Deck start is not permitted, front crawl and breaststroke 25 yd. sprint w/ rescue tube Stride jump is required. 25 yd. sprint retrieve 10 lb. brick, 25 yd. return to start w/ rescue tube and brick Stride jump is required, appropriate rescue technique must be demonstrated - i.e. whip/rotary kick on back. Tread water with 10 lb. brick for 1:30 Both hands must be on brick and out of water Quick surface dive for 10 lb. brick in 12'4" of water and return to surface In the water start, approach stroke for minimum of 10 yards and then diving. Goggles are NOT permitted. Time stops when brick breaks the surface of the water.

This is fulltime hourly position is responsible for maintaining and repairing all aspects of the Cadence Bank Arena & Conference Center buildings, including but not limited to, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, heavy machinery and other related general maintenance in all facilities. The position requires a varied work schedule with extended and/or irregular hours including some nights, weekends, and holidays. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Works closely with the Director of Operations to determine scope of duties and allocation of daily work assignments and in planning short-, mid- and long-term projects. At times he/she works alongside and in support of the Operations Manager and staff in various events and activities at the arena and conference center. Works with Tour/Production/Stage Managers on shows and events to accommodate productions in the areas of electrical hookups and other requirements as outlined in artist's production rider. Oversees the set up and installation of Ice rinks for all Ice Rink related shows, activities and events. Oversees the set up and installation of Basket-Ball Courts for all Basket-Ball related shows, activities and events. Assists with and at times leads crews in event changeovers and building conversions. Oversee building and grounds maintenance, all seating, building equipment and physical infrastructure, and have knowledge of safety procedures when completing such work. Inspects, maintains, and repairs equipment in a timely and efficient manner using strong and definable general maintenance skills. Perform pre-event inspections of the facility to ensure all plumbing and other facility-related equipment is in good working order. Ensure all standard operating procedures for the facility, including all machinery and equipment, are followed. Oversee the internal non-contracted facility preventative maintenance programs, RTU Drain Lines, Forklift, Golf Cart, Zamboni, Lighting Systems, Restrooms. Maintains an on-going line of communication with management personnel concerning specific duties or foreseen and unseen challenges. Works seamlessly with other internal departments, staff and crew and outside clients, Vendors and contractors to determine specific facility related needs and is a champion for proactive solution finding and cost-effective operations. 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday are the required normal working hours. Working hours may change to accommodate events at the arena and/or conference center. This position is the onsite facility's technician for all Ticketed Arena Shows with a schedule of 1pm through 12am, up to 13 times per calendar year. Other related duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position requires no supervisory responsibilities but at times will act in a leading role when competing building conversions or facility related projects. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
