The Equipment Operator will be a highly skilled operator and have a working knowledge of equipment and their attachments such as but not limited to: Skid steers, tractors, tillers, mechanical rakes, and sod cutters.
The operation of the equipment must be done in a highly detailed manner and high level of awareness. This position may also include levels of manual labor including raking and sodding. This position will take place in Minneapolis.
We are looking for TRUE operators. Not equipment drivers.

Annual Base Salary for newly appointed CBPOs varies as follows:

Qualifications:

Responsibilities
* Under supervision, set up equipment and collect samples at facility emissions sources that may require working at heights, indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, including but not limited to: heat, cold, humidity, snow, rain, wind, direct sunlight, and noise.
* Projects involve a considerable amount of overnight travel, generally in the Midwest; however, projects may be all over the United States with some opportunity for international travel. The field-testing portion of each project typically lasts from 1 to 5 days and the test teams are generally home on the weekends, but some projects may require working or traveling on a weekend. The number of people needed in the field and the number of days in the field, varies with each project and changes from week to week. Expect 75% of the weeks to involve field work.
* During testing, the Environmental Scientist will be at the location recording data, operating equipment, or working in the trailer recovering samples, performing analysis, etc.
* When not in the field, duties may include equipment calibrations and repairs, prep and packing for future projects, vehicle maintenance, basic sample analysis and tasks of that nature.
* The Environmental Scientist will become proficient in the various EPA sampling methods and develop knowledge about many types of industrial processes.

Qualifications
* Must be able to comfortably lift and carry 50 pounds. The testing projects can involve moving equipment to, and working at, elevated test locations, such as an exhaust stack platform or a rooftop. Access to the test location may be by elevator, stairs, or a ladder.
* Must be able to work comfortably throughout all the seasons as much of the work is potentially outdoors.

Field repair of mowers and landscape equipment during the summer months. Trucks/Trailers as needed.
During plow events, be available in a truck to service on-site skid loaders and trucks/plows in the field and fill up skid loaders using the truck's bulk diesel tank.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a mechanic with a focus on both truck and trailer maintenance, skid loader, and small engine repair.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Experience with hydraulics preferred (mower/skid loader/front end loader/Hook Truck)
Welding and light fabrication experience preferred. Mainly used for making repairs.
Ability to research mechanical issues on your own using the internet, product manuals, and current vendors.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Organizational Qualities in terms of shop/tool/yard organizing.
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Valid driver's license.

Grade level eligibility and salaries vary depending upon background, including experience and education, and duty location of the opportunity. This is a career ladder position with a grade level progression of GS-5, GS-7, GS-9, GS-11, and GS-12. You will be eligible for a promotion to the next higher grade level (without re-applying) once you successfully complete 52 weeks in each grade level. Promotions are at the discretion of the agency.
Officers are eligible to select from an array of federal employment benefits that include health, dental and other insurance plans, a generous annual and sick leave program, and participation in the Thrift Savings Plan, a retirement plan akin to a traditional and ROTH 401(k) offering.
Qualifications:
You qualify for the GS-9 grade level in one of the following ways: experience, education, or a combination of both. Experience: A minimum of one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level that includes:
· Detaining suspected violators of federal, state, or local laws and/or arresting violators using the proper law enforcement methods.
· Enforcing the laws and regulations relating to importing, exporting, and/or international shipping to and from the United States.
· Utilizing intelligence techniques and behavior analysis to identify potential threats and perform risk assessments for violations of laws and threats to national security.
· Conducting interviews in a law enforcement capacity for the purposes of gaining information from suspected violators of laws to determine the appropriate course of action.
The above experience will be applied in connection with the following: Ability to make rapid, accurate judgments and decisions with respect to the application of the regulations, instructions, and procedures for importing and exporting merchandise to and from the United States; or enforcement and administration of laws relating to the right of persons to enter, reside in or depart from the United States, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Education Substitution: A master's (or higher) degree, or two or more years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, or an LL.B. or J.D. from an accredited college or university; OR Combination of Experience and Education: A combination of specialized experience AND successfully completed graduate-level education. This training consists of basic law enforcement skills, immigration laws, firearms training, examination of cargo/bags/merchandise, physical fitness, etc. Candidates assigned to the southern border, Miami, or Puerto Rico duty locations must attend and pass an online Spanish training program, which will be completed at their home port. Successful completion of the Academy is required for this position.
