We are seeking a part time Audiology Assistant (Patient Care Technician) position is an integral part of the Audiology patient care team serving patients of all ages with their hearing and balance concerns. The Audiology Assistant facilitates the supervising Audiologists in the provision of care and is expected to be well versed in clinic practices. The position also is responsible for a host of duties that supports clinical operations to ensure maximum rate of efficiency and is expected have good organizational skills and attention to detail. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct Patient Care - Independent (Audiologist not in room):
Performs screening tests as appropriate.
Administers patient questionnaires as directed by Audiologist.
Prepares room, equipment, software and patient for fitting of hearing devices by the Audiologist.
Demonstrates knowledge and function of different hearing devices and accessories from a variety of manufacturers and associated software to prepare them for fitting and troubleshoots when malfunctioning.
Demonstrates knowledge and function for implementing Bluetooth connectivity from a variety of manufacturers (e.g. pairs hearing devices to phones and accessories, troubleshoots connectivity issues, etc.).
Troubleshoots defective hearing devices and performs minor repairs in house, arranges repair and/or obtaining replacement parts with manufacturer as needed.
Appropriately assists with patient orientation for hearing device and accessory use, care, and maintenance.
Appropriately assists educating patient regarding realistic expectations of benefit with amplification/stimulation.
Communicates cost, timeline, and expectations of repairs and/or equipment upgrades with patient.
Completes and reviews all hearing device paper work (warranty information, patient online portal registration, manufacturer contact information, etc.) with patient.
Ensures all charges associated with patient care activities are accurate and sent to Financial Care Counselor as needed in a timely manner.
Ensures rooms and equipment are cleaned before and after patient visit.
Promptly notifies Audiologist of any concerns related to patient care with goal of providing excellent customer service.

Assist with preparing documentation for patient care (e.g., letter of medical necessity, order forms, warranty forms, etc).
Accurately orders devices for patients following Audiologist?s/Surgeon?s recommendations and ensures they are received by the patient?s scheduled appointment.
Accurately orders device accessories and supplies abased on Audiologist?s recommendations.
Checks in and evaluates hearing devices received by manufacturers.
Assemble patient hearing devices, charges batteries, charges accessories, organize patient kit and completes patient documentation for upcoming visit with Audiologist.
Enters PHI and diagnostic data into software and database prior to scheduled appointments as needed.
Ensures audiological order/referral is in place prior to appointment.
Maintains and updates all charges/payments in HearForm database.
Maintains patient privacy and follows Duke HIPAA policies.
Maintains all required education and seeks continuing education opportunities.
Clinical Operations:
Performs daily checks on equipment.
Maintain clinic software and databases as needed.
Runs reports as requested.
Independently monitorinic ss clupply levels daily.
Orders supplies from appropriate Duke approved vendors.
Orders supplies within hours of need.
Unpacks and distributes supplies in clinic to appropriate rooms.

The North Carolina State University Design Lab for K-12 Education and Outreach is hiring 4 Lead Staff for Design Camp 2026. Design Camp is a pre-college program series hosted at the College of Design. Camp sessions include Middle School Day Camp, High School Explorations Day Camp, Design Fundamentals Day Camp, High School Explorations Residential Camp, Design Immersions Residential Program and Design Connections Residential Experience.
Design Camp Lead Staff work with Studio Instructors, Teaching Assistants and the Design Lab Director and Coordinator of Pre-College Programs to ensure a safe and successful camp experience for campers, parents/guardians and staff. Lead Staff hold a high level of responsibility and authority, especially over Design Camp counselors and campers, and are involved with all organizational and logistical aspects of Design Camp.

Work Schedule:
The Design Camp Lead Staff are required to attend training sessions, information sessions, staff meetings and complete administrative projects in preparation for Design Camp from February - May 2026. The prep work includes, but is not limited to, planning and leading some of the Design Camp Counselor Training Retreat in June 2026, preparing materials for campers, and planning Design Camp activities. Spring semester would be approximately 5 - 15 hours per week and determined by the Coordinator of Pre-College programs. Spring hours will vary and increase as the camp season approaches. The Coordinator of Pre-College Programs will work closely with Lead Staff to determine exact days and times to meet and work.
During the Design Camp Season, June - August 2026, Lead Staff will facilitate Design Camp Sessions by supporting campers, counselors and working with Design Lab Staff. Between Program Week 1 and Week 2 (Tuesday, June 30-Thursday, July 2) and Program Week 3 and Week 4 (Tuesday, July 21-Thursday, July 23), work related to preparing for upcoming Design Camp programs may be required, depending on outstanding tasks and program needs. Any hours worked during these periods will be compensated through the end-of-summer bonus. They will manage Design Camp preparations, wrap up, clean up, and other projects assigned to them by Design Lab Staff. The lead staff are required to stay in the dorms overnight during Residential Programs.

Lead staff will coordinate the inventory and storage of all leftover supplies, and participate in the reset of Leazar studio spaces.
