Apex Services company history timeline

1905

The first tobacco auction market in Wake County was established in Apex in 1905.

1912

In 1912, the Apex Town Hall was built on the Corner of Salem and Templeton.

1920

The population of Apex had grown to 1,000 by 1920, but the tobacco market declined during the 1920s.

1980

The following year, their son Hal was hired and the company relocated to Pomona, CA. In the late 1980’s, Apex expanded its scope of work to include lead abatement and water reservoir work.

1984

In 1984 Randy and Kathleen Hargrave acquired Apex.

1990

The population of Apex has grown from 5,000 people in 1990 to more than 60,000 people today.

1994

Downtown Apex, considered one of the most intact turn-of-the-century railroad towns in the area, received official designation as a Historic District in 1994.

1999

Apex Foster care was founded in 1999 as a treatment foster care agency.

2001

Since 2001, Alpine has believed that inspiring growth in people is the most sound way to build growth and revenue.

2006

In June 2006, the acquisition of 8 retail locations of Go Wireless in South Arkansas became the catalyst to a steady stream of acquisition and de novo growth.

The Small Town Character Overlay Zoning District passed in 2006 to help maintain the character of the heart of Apex, the Downtown and surrounding residential neighborhoods.

2009

APEX added its 30th location in September 2009 before focusing its attention on implementing new software and business processes to better train our employees and serve our customers.

2010

In 2010, APEX was a finalist for Arkansas Business of the Year in recognition of its growth and success.

2014

In early 2014, APEX sold the Georgia location in order to focus on the Arkansas and Oklahoma markets.

2015

Money Magazine named Apex as the #1 Best Place to Live in America in 2015.

2022
