Position Title: Psychiatrist (Full Time or Part Time)

Position Summary:
The Psychiatrist will address the behavioral health needs of patients and clients by conducting psychiatric evaluations, prescribing and managing psychotropic medications. The primary function of the Psychiatrist is to diagnose, prescribe medication, monitor medication side effects and participate in the treatment process. The Psychiatrist will provide services within the scope of the practitioner's license, certification and professional standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Determine clients' diagnosis and psychiatric needs, prescribe the medication to be utilized during the course of treatment, including Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) and substance use treatment, monitor treatment course and provide education.
* Conduct psychiatric evaluations, psychiatric updates, health monitoring, and crisis intervention as needed and required by regulations.
* Prescribe, recommend, or discontinue drugs and treatments to treat mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders.
* Work collaboratively with care teams, functioning as a vital part of an interdisciplinary team environment.
* Participate in case conferences and multidisciplinary conferences to address the complex medical and psychosocial needs of clients.
* Participate in efforts to support Apicha's primary care and Behavioral health integration efforts
* Ensure appropriate transitions of care with external Article 31 providers, hospitals, etc.
* Write reports and documentation as required.
* Keep abreast of current developments in patient care management, health care legislation, and community resources.
* Maintain professional relations with all clinic staff and clients.
* Participate regularly in staff development activities, including regular behavioral health, provider and multidisciplinary meetings.
* Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
* Must be a graduate of a four (4) year recognized medical school; must have completed residency in appropriate field.
* Must possess a current NYS physician license and be a Board eligible/certified in field of specialty.
* BLS-certified.
* DEA license.
* MAT Certified preferred.
* Excellent Oral and written communication skills.
* Possess the skills to appropriately assess/de-escalate/intervene in crisis.

Monitor and ensure medical case management staff progress by tracking performance milestones, resolving problems as they arise, and coordinating status update meetings with appropriate staff.
Monitor team's performance and ensure meeting the service goals and quota set by Apicha Department of Support Services.
Ensure the medical case management staff follows Apicha CHC policy and procedure as required.
Participates internal and external meetings as assigned.
Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement:
Perform quality assurance and quality improvement activities.
Participate/collaborate with internal and external entities on quality improvement activities.
Work as a part of Clinic multi-disciplinary team and Department of Support Services for continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities.
Collaboration and Outreach:
Facilitate on-going care team communication for betterment of patients.
Respond to any inquiry from external entities such as Department of Health, AIDS Institute, MCO, or other service providers on non-contractual related inquiries.
Provide information and facilitate referral to services available at the Agency, as needed.
Collaborate with internal and external entities in fostering effective partnership
Represent the agency at various venues to promote agency services.
Qualifications:
Advanced degree in related field (i.e. health, nursing, mental health, or public health) with 3 years of full-time experience in related field required. Bachelor in related field with 5 years of full-time experience in related field may be considered.
Two (2) years of supervisory experience to paid staff preferred.
Experience working with target populations strongly preferred: individuals with Serious Mental Illness, substance use disorders (SUDs), individuals with high risk of or living with HIV/AIDS, chronic hepatitis, and other individuals with social needs.
UAS-NY certification required within 1 month of hire.

Ensure that issues/concerns encountered or raised at/by the patients are resolved; to ensure smooth operation of the program, including troubleshoot any crisis with patients and/or care team.
Assign case coverage and/or provide coverage to the program staff as needed.
Project management:
Monitor and ensure staff maintain accurate patients and program related records on the services and activities such as enrollment, care plans, patient's interactions in funder assigned and agency required designated database to meet reporting and documentation requirements.
Collects, prepares, and reports of services and activities completed in a timely manner to internal and external entities, as required.
Monitor PrEP and PEP Navigation program progress by tracking performance milestones, resolving problems as they arise, and coordinating status update meetings with appropriate staff.
Monitor team's performance and ensure meeting the service goals and quota set by Apicha Department of Support Services
Ensure the program staff follows Apicha CHC policy and procedure as required
Work with the staff to ensure the program patients meets the program requirements
Participates internal and external meetings as assigned.
Quality Assurance & Quality Improvement:
Perform quality assurance and quality improvement activities
Participate/collaborate with internal and external entities on quality improvement activities.
Collaboration & Outreach:
Respond to any inquiry from external entities such as Department of Health, AIDS Institute, MCO, or other service providers on inquiries related to services.
Provide information and facilitate referral to services available at the Agency.
Collaborate with internal and external entities in fostering effective partnership.
Represent the agency at various venues to promote agency services.
Qualifications:
Advanced degree in related field (i.e. health, mental health, business administration, public health, or public administration) with 3 years of full-time experience required in social service field including managing complex, multi-faceted project management and training teams in fast-paced environments while consistently hitting or exceeding deadlines. BS in related field with 5 years of equivalent experience may be considered.
Two (2) years of experience in hiring, managing paid staff, and developing high performance cross-functional team preferred.
Experience working with target populations strongly preferred. The target populations: including but not limited to: individuals with Serious Mental Illness, serious substance use disorders (SUDs), Individuals with high risk of HIV/AIDS, chronic hepatitis, and other individuals with social needs.
Strong organizational skills, ownership mentality, and the ability to know when to solve for accuracy versus precision strongly preferred; a passion for creating both zero-to-one and on-to-one hundred processes with high fidelity; a demonstrated track record of solving the next biggest problem.
Appreciation of and commitment to Apicha's mission and values.
Excellent MS Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Must possess ability to interact with all levels of external and internal customers with a high level of professionalism and culturally competent in representing Apicha CHC.

A working knowledge in this domain is expected to be developed.
Qualifications: High school diploma with substantial computer software and hardware knowledge required. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science preferred; One year of paid full-time work. • Monitors the temperature of vaccine and specimen refrigerators and freezers and takes appropriate actions during abnormal occurrences- e.g. abnormal temperature or electrical failure. Maintains temperature logs.
• Stocks examination rooms with supplies on a daily basis as needed
Qualifications
• High School diploma or GED required
• Completion of accredited Medical Assistant Program, Associate's degree preferred.
• One (1) year full time Medical Assistant work experience preferred
• Possession of a current basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation (BLS CPR) certificate.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team.
• Experience working with people living with HIV/AIDS preferred.
• Ability to speak Spanish or one of the Asian language is strongly preferred.
• Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds in a multi-cultural setting required.
