Primary Responsibilities:

Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.

Collaborate with project teams to assist in pre-bid and post bid requirements for project bidders.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, architecture, or related field and 6+ years of quality control and quality assurance experience over a wide range of project sizes and types.

Formal building envelope commissioning training preferred. Understanding and utilization of the following industry standards. i. This position will manage and control assigned projects, including directing field operations, site safety, productivity, schedule, work quality, and trade contractor and supplier coordination while working in conjunction with the Project Manager to lead the project team. Job Description:
Adolfson & Peterson Construction, one of the nation's top contractors, is recruiting for an experienced Assistant Superintendent.
This position will collaborate with the Superintendent and/or Project Manager to coordinate field operations, site safety, productivity, schedule, work quality, and trade contractor and supplier coordination. Project scopes are generally less than $5 million or for one component on a large, complex project.

Responsibilities:
Take personal responsibility for working safely within an incident and injury free (IIF) culture.
Manage on-site construction activities.
Understand all the plans, specifications, and details for the assigned project; maintain a complete set of updated construction drawings as a permanent record.
Schedule and procure tools, equipment, and materials necessary for the project; ensure all team members on the jobsite have been trained on the tools and processes necessary to perform their jobs; attend weekly toolbox talks.
Partner with the project team to provide information in the project start-up and close-out meetings.
Hold trade contractors accountable for meeting the schedule and performing quality work while maintaining a positive relationship with them.
Manage, review, and control all project cost codes, budgets, and production units for assigned portions of the project.
Ensure project quality based on AP's quality management programs for all assigned areas of the project; participate in creating site-specific quality control plans; monitor compliance and performance.
Troubleshoot jobsite challenges and offer innovative solutions; document all corrections, changes, and requests.
Collaborate in the creation of site-specific safety plans; monitor compliance and performance. Support AP's safety program to strive for Zero Injury on each project; this includes:
Ensure that all job safety requirements are understood and implemented by all project team members and trade contractors. Collaborate with AP safety support team members as needed.

Identify and correct safety hazards on the jobsite; report all safety incidents to AP safety team members.
Maintain and post OSHA and Company required safety literature.
Collaborate with other departments in the pre-construction and planning phases.
Provide technical expertise throughout the pre-construction process and participate in the constructability review.
Assist with the management of the pre-construction schedule.
Review the plans and specifications for constructability and construction schedules; advise to the project team regarding issues or deficiencies.
Assist in quantity take-off and pricing estimates.
Help prepare, coordinate, and update the detailed project schedule with sequence and activity duration including procurement items.
In collaboration with others, establish the punchlist process and close-out procedures with the Project Manager, owner, and design team before trade contractor work starts; maintain a Zero Punchlist.
Understand the contract between AP and the owner, the project estimate, budget set-up, and trade contractor and supplier contract scopes.
Ensure that all subcontractors have met all insurance requirements prior to being onsite.
Participate in procuring future projects and help build client loyalty.
Participate in marketing efforts, presentations, and proposal preparations; support others in determining sequence activities and activity duration on schedules for proposed projects.
Build and maintain a network of possible and client leads; look for potential leads.
Participate in at least one industry organization.
Maintain a positive relationship with the owner and design team throughout the project; understand and help communicate the owner's goals regarding construction to all field team members.

Requirements:
History of progressively more experience and proven results including:
Post-secondary or bachelor's degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or related field and 2+ years of related experience or a high school diploma or equivalent and 7+ years of directly related experience.

Primary Accountabilities:

Perform in-house audits of invoices.
Coordinate payment compliance to ensure proper payment for subcontractor suppliers.

Collaborate with accounting and project teams to ensure that subcontractor payments are made according to contract terms and subcontractor compliance.

Support subcontractors with the Textura online billing system and provide guidance for troubleshooting issues.
Manage subcontractor and vendor documents.
Manage lien filings following state statutory laws.
Implement and maintain lien waiver procedures.
Manage subcontractor joint payment agreements, tax levies, and bankruptcy notices; ensure that joint payments are made according to agreement terms and to high-risk subcontractors.
Identify subcontractor invoices in order to take available discounts as appropriate.
Manage subcontractor communications relating to payment applications, payments, and disputes; provide direction and oversight of the electronic subcontractor disbursement process and manual payments for all regions.
Analyze entries and troubleshoot any potential issues.
Review insurance requirements for compliance before payment.

The Safety Manager will manage AP's safety program to ensure a safe environment for all employees. Incorporate project management principles into the proposal process.
Communicate field/office policies, instructions, and procedures to all project team members, including trade contractor personnel.
Review project plans for constructability and cost feasibility; complete project risk assessments and prepare scope of work matrices.
Provide technical expertise on projects in the pre-construction phase.
Prepare the scope of work matrix for all trade contractor and supplier contracts, construction schedule, and performance expectations including workforce utilization goals prior to the award of the contract.
Expedite project trade contractor/supplier buy-out; assist in review of bids to ensure that all items are included, exclusions are understood, and the bid is complete and conforms to the specifications before award.
Draft and/or edit owner and subcontractor contract language.
Analyze and manage project progress, costs, budgets, and cash flows.
Create all project cost codes, budgets, and cash flow reports.
Manage, review, and control all project costs and maintain accurate project cost projections.
Confirm that total cost budgets, with contingencies, tie to the project contract amount; ensure project budgets are maintained.
Prepare all monthly pay applications to the owner and ensure timely collection; collect, in accordance with the contract, all invoiced project amounts due from the owner and manage the project's cash flow.
Review and approve all trade contractor/supplier payment applications; collect supplier and trade contractor lien waivers to ensure all payments are properly disbursed.
Prepare final written analysis on project profitability, profit enhancers, profit busters, and project problems for discussion in the close-out meeting and the permanent project records.
Provide explanations for all significant project cost variances, by cost code, on the Intranet.
Review the project's QC plan and ensure compliance; report findings to project team and management.

Security Clearance
Current Secret security clearance required
Professional Certifications
CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) required
CASP+ (CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner) required

Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Systems Engineering or related field

Job Description:
Adolfson & Peterson Construction, one of the nation's top contractors, is recruiting for an experienced Carpenter.
This position will construct, fabricate, erect, install, and repair structures and fixtures to meet temporary and permanent building enclosure needs. This can include rough and finish carpentry such as installing interior/exterior blocking and backing, basic concrete formwork, and setting door frames. Construction uses wood, plywood, wallboard, plastic and other general building materials. Depending on the region, this may also include placing and finishing concrete. Complexity and type of assigned work is dependent on skill level and years of experience.
Because safety is paramount to AP and embedded into everything we do, all team members are responsible for working safely within our Incident and Injury Free culture.
Responsibilities:
Take personal responsibility for working safely within an Incident and Injury Free (IIF) culture.
Read building plans and sketches for information pertaining to the type of material required and dimensions of the structure or fixture to be fabricated or installed.
Determine the layout and placement of building materials and components as required by the specifications and work schedules using levels, rules, plumb bobs, framing squares, and any other necessary surveying equipment.
Accurately measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, and other building materials.
Construct building frameworks, including walls, floors, and doorframes.
Clean and maintain the work area and all hand and power equipment.
Inspect work-in-progress to ensure that it conforms to the specifications, construction schedules, and quality standards as outlined in AP's quality management program.
Instruct and direct laborers and other construction helpers.
Where applicable, complete basic concrete formwork.
Utilize forming systems or handmade form systems.
Place and finish concrete.
Assure that workmanship is of the highest quality.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
History of carpentry experience and proven results including:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Completion of an apprenticeship program or equivalent training.
Ability to properly lift, carry, push, and move materials, supplies, tools, and ladders weighing up to 100 pounds on a routine basis throughout the day.
Physical agility to climb ladders, kneel, crouch down, and reach on a repetitive basis throughout the day.
Ability to travel to project sites up to 70+ miles away.
Willingness to work in various (sometimes extreme) climate conditions.
Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, builders' level, theodolite, etc.).
Demonstrated ability to proactively resolve construction issues.
Demonstrated ability to read and understand basic blueprints, specifications, and construction documents.
Demonstrated integrity and ethical standards.
Basic computer and math skills.
Demonstrated high attention to detail.
Ability to be self-motivated, set own goals and tasks, and contribute to a positive team environment.
