Job Responsibilities:
The Medical Assistant (MA) is responsible for maintaining a highly professional environment, ensuring a collaborative relationship with patients and physicians.
Prepare and maintain exam rooms, manage patient flow, update charts, obtain vitals, perform EKGs, verify medications, and assist with phlebotomy as needed.
Assist providers during examinations, procedures, and lab testing; prepare patients and exam rooms; and complete clinical documentation accurately and on time.
Administer vaccines and medications (IM and subcutaneous) under provider orders; support medication renewals and authorizations per department guidelines.
Coordinate patient care by scheduling tests, surgeries, and follow-up appointments; relay test results, route telephone messages, and support patient inquiries.
Maintain clinic inventory, sterilize instruments, ensure compliance with HIPAA/OSHA standards, and participate in quality improvement, training, and continuing education.
Required:
High School diploma
2+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant
Certified Medical Assistant from - NHA, AAMA or AMT.
Basic Life Support certification - AHA
