SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for tracking, inspecting and testing a variety of sophisticated machinery, including analytical and electronic measuring devices, recording and indicating instruments, and electrical, mechanical and electromechanical calibrated equipment. Must ensure calibrated equipment are tested at approved regular intervals to ensure correct calibration to a standard traceable to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) or to a standard provided by the equipment manufacturer for a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Part 145 Repair Station Quality Management System. This position reports to the Director of Quality of Assurance. The position is responsible for decision making that may have a significant impact on the organization's earnings, operations and reputation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Creating Calibrated Equipment identification numbers for new equipment that are being brought into the system.
· Adding calibrating equipment into the system database.
· Tracking all calibrated equipment to ensure they are operated within their calibrated time frames.
· Ensure all required shop equipment under supervision is maintained in appropriate calibration status.
· Troubleshooting, installing and repairing components including analytical and electronic measuring devices, recording and indicating instruments, and electrical, mechanical and electromechanical components.
· Tagging, removing and quarantining any equipment that is out of calibration status.
· Ensure all repair work performed is accomplished in accordance with current applicable manufacturer's data acceptable and approved by the FAA, and in accordance with current NIST guidelines.
· Review and certify new and modified test equipment and special test procedures.
· Maintains a system of keeping records of checks and calibration of inspection tools and precision test equipment, taking steps to ensure that the established check periods are not exceeded.
· Ensure all compliance of Company inspection standards, methods, and procedures.
· Ensure accuracy and completeness of required documents and of all materials to specifications.
· Follow and adhere to all policies and regulations.
· Back up department functions and perform other duties as assigned.

Signing Bonus Details:
Qualified Tech candidates with 1-5 years of relevant boiler experience will receive a $2500 signing bonus!
($1500 paid upon hire, and $1000 paid after 90 days)
Qualified Techs with +5 years of relevant boiler experience will receive a $5000 signing bonus!
($3000 paid upon hire, $2000 paid after 90 days)
Essential functions:
Wire all controls and motors for watertube and firetube boilers and auxiliary equipment.
Rebuild control valves and regulators.
Build and test control panel using Engineering wiring schematic and layout.
Build and test fuel skids using Engineering wiring schematic and layout.
Build and test condensate tanks and deaerators.
Trim out firetube and watertube boilers.
Perform start-up of Rental boilers in field.
Assist departments as required.
Reads blueprints and wiring schematics.
Able to trouble shoot, fire, and set combustion on all types of boilers, including but not limited to boiler with superheaters, desuperheaters, and economizers.
Determines valve trim, regulator size and spring, oil gun length and size, and all other parts and accessories needed to fire any boiler.
Able to fire and set combustion on boiler with all types of pneumatic controls.
Able to fire and set combustion on boiler with all types of electrical controls.
Able to train other employee's on the operation and controls of boilers.
Maintain condition of and inventory of all tools and monitors.
Apply intellect, creativity, adaptability, judgment, and management skills to achieve required results.
Ensure duties and company projects are accomplished in an efficient and cost effective manner.
Support peers and management with internal and external projects.
Adhere to company policies.
Other duties as assigned.
Basic Requirements:
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent
Experience:
Minimum of two (2) years of electrical troubleshooting/ technical background.
Other Requirements:
Must possess a valid drivers license with a safe driving record
Must be able to read and work from blueprints and schematics.
Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
Mechanical and electrical background a must.
Must have the ability and knowledge to trouble shoot systems without the appropriate schematic.
Physical Skill & Effort:
Requires stooping, climbing, bending, crawling, and lifting 50 pounds, working in confined and elevated areas, and prolonged standing.
Working Conditions and Hazards:
Some work in physical plant environment where plant orientation may be required and safety precautions are required. May encounter some unpleasant working conditions of brief duration. Little to no contact with hazardous conditions.

Our client, a global telecommunications company, is actively looking for an Electronic Technician to join their team in Schaumburg, IL!
This role is fully onsite so local candidates are required.
***This is a 6-12 month initial contract with the opportunity to extend or convert based on performance and business needs***
Responsibilities
Analyze and troubleshoot 2-way radios and repeaters
Create or modify cable assemblies
Rework circuits including: 0201 size parts, Standard SOICs, Fine-pitch BGAs
Test radios and repeaters for product certification
Track prototype radios and repeaters
Read schematics and layouts
Stay organized and multitask effectively
Required Skills & Experience
Technical Associate's degree
4+ years of experience analyzing & troubleshooting radio circuits (soldering & debugging electrical circuits)
Proficiency working with test equipment (multimeters & oscilloscopes)
Skilled in soldering/replacing 0201 parts, SOICs, BGAs
Skilled in rework with small-gauge wires (32 AWG or smaller)
Working knowledge of Cadence Allegro Design Entry HDL & PCB Layout Editor
Familiarity with LabVIEW and Python (preferred)
