Responsibilities: * Design, deploy, and support all aspects of VMware and Oracle KVM virtualization platforms * Monitor and maintain the virtual environment's health, performance, and capacity to ensure optimal operation and availability * Strong scripting experience using Ansible, Python, and Shell to automate for consistency, efficiency and repetitive tasks * Performs daily operations support functions in a 24x7 environment - including system deployments, patching, installation, configuration, maintenance, problem isolation and resolution within production, QA and development environments; environments include physical servers, virtualization, operating systems, and automation tools * Documentation of processes, procedures, configurations, and deployment plans * Provide incident response and root cause/mitigation to include security vulnerabilities, performance degradation and system outage analysis * Participates in team on-call rotation and planned weekend activities Our ideal candidate will have a unique blend of impeccable technical skills and a desire to work as part of a team to grow themselves and those around them. The candidate must have: * Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience * 8+ years of operations administration experience managing mission-critical systems * Professional experience with Red Hat Linux system administration in a production environment highly preferred * Critical thinker with problem solving aptitude and thrives for implementing process improvements * Proficient with automation- Not just developing automation, but knowing why we automate and what to automate * Strong written and verbal communication skills - able to clearly and succinctly describe complex issues * Familiarity with networking protocols, system monitoring and performance tools This position is based in our Reston, VA office and offers a flexible, hybrid work schedule The pay range is $123,500 - $167,100. The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is noted above, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience.
