Core Technology Quality Engineers are responsible for driving quality improvement actions on future products. They enable a mass production capable manufacturing processes and develop plans to validate / verify new product quality at each development landmark. They approach problems in an engineering method and make data driven decision. Quality Engineers also bring up capable suppliers which can execute at a high level in an ongoing basis.

ASIC Engineer, Infra Silicon Pre/Post Silicon Validation

Meta is hiring ASIC Engineers within the Infrastructure organization. We are looking for individuals with experience in the Pre/Post Silicon Validation to build and scale silicon for data center applications. As an ASIC Engineer in the Infra Silicon Enablement team, you will be part of a dynamic team working with the best in the industry, focused on developing and supporting innovative ASIC solutions for Meta's data center applications.
Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
* 8+ years of experience with ASIC development cycles, Pre/Post Silicon Validation
* 8+ years of experience with troubleshooting, debug and analytics for Silicon products
* Experience in Python, C/C++ and/or similar languages (data structures, algorithms, and OOP)
* Experience working with internal and external partners for ASIC and/or systems development
* Experience in ASIC Design or Development, Emulation and Post Silicon validation
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience working with Emulation/FPGA platforms for test content development, debug and enablement on post silicon
* Experience with some of the following modules/domains: PCIe, Networking, Ethernet, Flash, Memory, CPU, GPU, DRAM (LP/DDR4/5 and/or HBM)
* Experience with Application, Host Driver development etc is plus
* Understanding of embedded systems, including common bus protocols such as I2C, SPI, USB, and/or PCIe
* Experience with Linux systems and server systems management
* Experience with RDMA Gen Driver, DPDK, Application, Host Driver development is a plus
Responsibilities
* Work across all aspects of silicon lifecycle to deliver reliable and performant silicon solutions. From early architecture and design inputs, pre-silicon test readiness/validation, post-silicon bring-up, validation, characterization and deployment in fleet
* Create/develop validation plan, tests and automation tool sets targeted at silicon validation and productization. Inclusive of, but not limited to silicon diagnostics, performance analysis, debug tools, bare metal and full stack systems, from early labs to data center deployments
* Understand production system use cases to improve silicon validation
* Provide feedback into next generation architecture and design with insights from the production fleet
* Root-cause, resolve and remediate issues with silicon across the product lifecycle
* Lead end-to-end silicon validation effort, driving strategy, planning, execution, and post-silicon enablement to ensure successful product delivery

Do you want to shape the future of technology and multimedia? Apple's Multimedia Engineering team is looking for a video standards engineer who will represent the voice of Apple Multimedia in standards bodies around the world. In this role, you will join a small team that is responsible for Apple's engagement with several standards developing organizations including Alliance for Open Media (AOM), ITU, MPEG, 3GPP, and others. You will investigate and develop new media technologies collaborate with other teams within Apple in such development and then engage with these organizations for their standardization.
As a video standards engineer, you will be a member of a team that represents Apple in the international standards' community. In this role you will be providing a clear position on our analysis of ongoing standards, refining and commenting on work in progress, proposing and driving to completion Apples initiatives and in general, steering the work to develop the field in line with Apple's vision and values. You may also represent Apple at standardization calls and meeting, integrating the feedback of the Apple community on the ongoing work and representing that at meetings. You will engage with various standards bodies, including the Alliance for Open Media, MPEG, 3GPP, ITU etc. and you will be involved in the development of new 2D and 3D multimedia standards. This position requires travel.

Experienced in developing sophisticated video compression technologies such as MPEG-4 AVC, HEVC, VVC, or AOMedia's AV1 adn AV2 helpful. Track record of effective participation. Able to develop, analyze, propose and refine new algorithms and techniques; help develop Apples intellectual property position with inventions and filings. Experienced in key multimedia specifications from AOM, ISO, ITU, SMPTE, etc. Familiar with software development tools including Xcode, Git etc. Proficient in practical software development and able to contribute to large codebases e.g. of reference software (C, C++). Excellent writing, speaking, presentation and other interpersonal skills.
