The Opportunity

This qualifications covers groove, fillet, plug, slot, and build up welds on ferrous base metals only (plate and structural shapes) having thickness ? inch to unlimited. Level B1 also includes air-carbon arc gouging / cutting, SMAW and FCAW-G fillet welds on socket type fittings used in air brake piping applications. "
Candidate must be able teach SMAW and FCAW-G welding processes as well as oxyfuel, air carbon arc, and plasma arc cutting. Knowledge of AWS D1.1 and/or D15.1 preferred.
Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or Certified Welding Educator (CWE) credentials from the American Welding Society (AWS) and technical knowledge of railroad related tasks sufficient to lecture and instruct relevant hands-on exercises is highly preferred.
