On average, developer/consultants earn a higher salary than application consultants. There are industries that support higher salaries in each profession respectively. Interestingly enough, developer/consultants earn the most pay in the technology industry with an average salary of $101,340. Whereas, application consultants have higher paychecks in the technology industry where they earn an average of $93,342.

When it comes to the differences in education between the two professions, developer/consultants tend to reach similar levels of education than application consultants. In fact, they're 4.0% more likely to graduate with a Master's Degree and 0.3% more likely to earn a Doctoral Degree.

The third profession we take a look at is senior technical consultant. On an average scale, these workers bring in higher salaries than application consultants. In fact, they make a $9,503 higher salary per year.

Using application consultants and senior technical consultants resumes, we found that both professions have similar skills such as "client facing," "java," and "crm," but the other skills required are very different.

Some important key differences between the two careers are a few of the skills necessary to fulfill responsibilities. Some examples from application consultant resumes include skills like "troubleshoot," "database," "user acceptance," and "user training," whereas a senior technical consultant might be skilled in "cloud," "power bi," "architecture," and "cloud security. "

Interestingly enough, senior technical consultants earn the most pay in the finance industry, where they command an average salary of $119,321. As mentioned previously, application consultants highest annual salary comes from the technology industry with an average salary of $93,342.

Senior technical consultants typically study at similar levels compared with application consultants. For example, they're 0.5% more likely to graduate with a Master's Degree, and 0.4% more likely to earn a Doctoral Degree.

The fourth career we look at typically earns lower pay than application consultants. On average, application support specialists earn a difference of $13,702 lower per year.

While both application consultants and application support specialists complete day-to-day tasks using similar skills like java, crm, and troubleshoot, the two careers also vary in other skills.

Each job requires different skills like "client facing," "business process," "database," and "c++," which might show up on an application consultant resume. Whereas application support specialist might include skills like "customer service," "application issues," "strong problem-solving," and "production environment."

In general, application support specialists make a higher salary in the finance industry with an average of $98,607. The highest application consultant annual salary stems from the technology industry.

The average resume of application support specialists showed that they earn lower levels of education to application consultants. So much so that the likelihood of them earning a Master's Degree is 10.4% less. Additionally, they're less likely to earn a Doctoral Degree by 0.9%.
