Key job responsibilities
As an ECAD Tools Application Engineer, you will be responsible for providing a stable, reliable set of Electrical Computer Aided Design (ECAD) tools and database management for electrical engineering design, layout, and simulation engineers. A day in the life
Our tools administrators help solve the problems of the day, work to lay the foundation for the future and stay on top of the most current technologies and methods to aid in our tools running at peak performance. Activities will include working with an end user to get their project back on track, creating a proposal and documents for future infrastructure needs to support scalability for the team and tools, automating processes to streamline development, and researching new tools or technologies to increase design rigor and productivity.
About the team
The ECAD team supports the tools and infrastructure for Electrical Engineering, PCB Design, Library Management and the interface to our Enterprise systems including PLM, ERP and our Manufacturing tools.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical,Computer Engineering or related discipline or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years as an Application Engineer for one or more CAD tools such as (Mentor Xpedition, Cadence Allegro, Altium Designer).
- 5+ years with frontend (design tools), and the backend (ECAD library/design database, server infrastructure)
- 5+ years Enterprise Tool administration experience, debugging and solving client and server-side application issues, software installation, configuration, etc.
- 3+ years of developing and documenting engineering processes related to ECAD tools and engineering activities.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Experience in Electrical Engineering design.
- Experience as Application Engineer for Mentor Xpedition and Mentor EDM.
- Experience automating ECAD workflows/processes.
- Experience providing support for Hyperlynx, Ansys, Reliance, and other engineering applications.

About the team

We are looking for an experienced PLM Application Engineer to join our team and lead feature development and implementation of Teamcenter PLM with related business applications. The candidate enjoys solving problems and has a strong technical background in PDM/PLM/CAD application management and software development. The role requires a responsive individual that can wear multiple hats and work in fast paced environment which has an entrepreneurial feel of a “start-up”. At the core of this role, the candidate is expected to innovate through simple solutions to improve the PLM business process and deliver great customer value. Position Summary:
The Development Engineer will be responsible for the implementation and support of new and existing materials for GP. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with various materials processes and equipment and will have strong troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude.
**This is not a software engineering position.**
Responsibilities:
Process Optimization / Production Support
· Determine optimal process windows and define work instructions
· Troubleshoot and resolve material and process issues encountered during manufacturing.
· Identify and implement improvements to existing production processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
New Product Development
· Work with production teams to scale up new formulations from the lab to full-scale manufacturing; overseeing the creation of TDSs, work instructions, and related documents.
· Fabricate or facilitate the creation of new equipment necessary to realize new material innovations.
Collaboration
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, sales, and quality assurance, to define product requirements and ensure manufacturability.
· 3+ years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing or R&D setting, preferably with polymeric or composite materials.
· In-depth knowledge of polymer or polyurethane chemistry and processing methods (e.g., molding, casting, injection).
· Experience in process or equipment design and development.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a detail-oriented mindset.
· Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field is a plus
