    We are seeking a qualified Transit Project Lead (Engineer or Planner) with ten (10) plus years' experience to become a part of our established Transit Group for our Albany, Poughkeepsie, Syracuse or White Plains Offices. This position will work on a variety of projects and interact with traffic engineers, highway engineers, transportation planners and our clients. Projects generally focus on bus related planning and infrastructure, and can include transportation and transit planning, station design, highway design, facilities and site design, alternatives analysis and concept development, and construction coordination. The position may require efforts outside normal business hours to travel, meet client requests and/or attend meetings. A background and a desire to improve our public transportation systems is a plus. Responsibilities include: Investigate options to improve efficiency in bus service and make recommendations for network redesign and planning Bus rapid transit experience Evaluate bus operations to identify opportunities to reduce overhead costs, Design bus facilities including maintenance yards and bus stops Lead intermediate and limited complex transportation planning, and/or engineering assignments in this field. Lead or assist with multidisciplinary projects involving architecture, mechanical and structural engineering disciplines Prepare conceptual plans, graphics and documents. Lead project and/or public meetings. Responsible for report writing for all related projects. Represent the organization in communications and conferences pertaining to broad aspects of Public Transportation related planning and/or engineering assignments. Assume client relations and financial responsibilities for routine projects. Develop and/or review project documents for scope, conformity and quality. This position is primarily responsible for the technical engineering and production aspects of medium to large projects from conceptual design through construction closeout. SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Leads in-house building systems design / engineering team through development of design and construction documentation process. Could also provide Project Engineer support as part of a larger project team on larger projects. Develops and coordinates with all engineering disciplines and architecture team to produce construction documents. Involved in field investigations, detailed engineering design work and development of design computations. Oversees code compliance with applicable engineering codes, standards and guidelines. Position Overview The Technical Sales Engineer will serve as a critical bridge between customers, sales, engineering, and manufacturing teams. This individual will identify new business opportunities, support prospective projects with technical insight, and help deliver customized, value-driven solutions that align with client needs and manufacturing capabilities. Key Responsibilities Proactively identify and develop new business opportunities by sourcing and supporting custom polymer manufacturing solutions Serve as a technical expert during the sales process, clearly demonstrating manufacturing capabilities and process advantages to prospective clients Build, manage, and strengthen long-term client relationships to drive customer satisfaction and repeat business Travel to customer sites to provide consultative support and personalized service Partner closely with Engineering and internal stakeholders to develop accurate, competitive pricing, quotes, and proposals Meet and exceed sales goals by tracking performance metrics and adjusting strategies as needed Anticipate technical, sales, and manufacturing risks while contributing to mitigation strategies Manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong attention to detail and follow-through Perform additional duties as assigned Qualifications & Experience Bachelors degree in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent experience) 5-7 years of progressive experience in technical sales, project engineering, or a customer-facing engineering role Working knowledge of plastics manufacturing processes and mold fabrication is strongly preferred Familiarity with polymer materials and their applications Experience collaborating across engineering, manufacturing, and sales teams Required Skills & Competencies Strong understanding of material flow and MRP/ERP systems Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office Suite, MS Project; design/visualization tools a plus) Proven project management and organizational skills Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal abilities Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with sound judgment Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and influence others Physical Requirements This role involves light physical activity, including occasional lifting (up to 20 lbs), standing, walking, and the ability to perform routine movements associated with office, manufacturing, and customer-site environments.
