    The Technical Inside Sales Engineer provides technical pre-sales support to targeted partners & national resellers for Vertiv integrated row solutions, including power conditioning and distribution units, and data center thermal management unit. This position provides configuration assistance or product configuration development, interaction with national resellers technical teams on their customer application requirements, supports bid spec reviews and compliance documentation, and competitive cross-reference support. In addition, responsibilities include providing technical guidance or clarification on how to best position information for effective selling. This position will primarily interface with the national reseller technical teams, national reseller sales teams, and the Vertiv Sales teams. This role is 100% onsite reporting downtown Columbus, Ohio. RESPONSIBILITIES Provide technical pre-sales support between Vertiv and targeted resellers. Provide pre-sales quality technical application support to sales personnel and customers. Support the proper selection and sizing of products and accessories, accurately explain and discuss product features and applications, and support sales efforts and facilitate order capture rates. Prepare and deliver solution-based product presentations, demos and evaluations that meet customer business requirements. Collaborate and communicate closely with Vertiv field sales teams supporting same opportunity. Review or generate the optimized Vertiv configuration to solve a specific national reseller opportunity set of application requirements. Assist in technical sales positioning on proposals considering specifications, competition, winning criteria (e.g. price or performance or efficiency or footprint). Provide technical sales support to targeted national resellers via training and presentations. Serve as escalation point for national resellers on basic technical pre-sales questions. Assist in defining technical pre-sales elements supporting marketing collateral. Provide pre-sale applications engineering support via phone, e-mail, and web to national resellers. Provide competitive evaluations to national resellers when appropriate. Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, business management, or operations management (or equivalent combination of education and experience). 0-2 years of experience in a sales support or manufacturing support role; a technical support role a custom design support role, or inside sales support role.
