Job Responsibilities:


The responsibilities of the third level application support specialist ranges across the entire spectrum system lifecycle management. Responsibilities include supporting, provisioning and delivering solutions for the US audit technology group. third level application support specialist will also support various third party solutions implemented across our platform to accomodate the needs of the audit buisness. Ability to clearly communicate and work closely with other groups in a matrix organization. Experience in large multi-geographical real-time systems. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities and tasks. The capacity to innovate, anticipate trends and challenge established practices. Distinctive communications skills and ability to communicate technical content in an easy to understand way. Strong people skills, team-orientation, and a professional attitude.


Skills and Experience:



Experience in an enterprise IT operational support role. Experience implementing, supporting, and documenting multi-tier enterprise solutions. Experience in real time scalability and highly available solutions. Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell. Experience conducting disaster recovery tests. Proficient in Windows operating systems. Experience with system and network protocols, authentication, security protocols, and application security. Familiar working with SQL databases and DevOps methodologies. Must Haves - SQL, DevOps, PowerShell

Education:

Program Overview: NAWCWD is the weapons systems integration and software support activity for several aircraft Integrated Product Teams (IPTs). The mission the program is to provide research, development, test, evaluation, systems integration, and programmatic support for weapons systems and associated tactical computer systems embedded within or carried on their aircraft, including related systems, support equipment, and interoperability initiatives. Working will include: Modification of aircraft components, technical support services (including full systems integration) to all NAWCWD aircraft IPTs and their associated aircraft weapons and support systems, and technical support services to other related and/or interfacing systems (including related test laboratories and equipment). This position is contingent upon contract award, expected in 2022.

Location: Individuals would be physically located in following work sites:

• China Lake, CA

Essential job responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Provides expertise and direction in the development and/or modification of computer-based scientific, technical, and business software systems. Uses expertise to design develop, code, test, and debug software. May work in one or several areas, such as equipment or software design, engineering evaluation or test, configuration management procedures, statistical analysis and modeling. Works with users to define existing or new system scope and objectives. Provides analytical support and technical advice during the conceptualization, development, and implementation phases. Plans and schedules new applications systems projects with user, systems software, and computer center operations personnel, including the identification of objectives, time frames, costs, and manpower requirements. Performs tasks necessary to ensure the identification and documentation of hazards within software systems using various analysis tools and techniques. Reviews and evaluates systems and software for adherence to government or commercial directives, standards, guidelines, and criteria concerning software safety and systems safety. Confirms design mitigations are captured in the design and its documentation and verifies implementation. May perform as a project lead with the responsibility for the instruction, assigning, direction, and monitoring of the performance of assigned systems developers / analyst working on a specific project.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

• 3 or more years of experience and a BA/BS degree. Typically performs all functional duties independently.
• Must be an US Citizen

This position requires that the candidate have and maintain an active Secret DoD security clearance

Desired Experience:

• Knowledge of naval aircraft/weapons systems integration functions, weapons systems development, electronic warfare systems and/ or aircraft platform

POSITION OVERVIEW

Xator is seeking a highly motivated, self-directed professional to fill the role of Applications Software Developer on our team in the Herndon, VA area.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

Design, build, and deploy highly scalable, resilient, performant services in an integrated team to continually improve DevOps posture. Work with current application teams to understand current analytics, review test plans, and to collaborate with user interface designers to ensure developed software integrates seamlessly. Serve as an expert resource within the development team to determine the needs of the business that will simplify and automate application services.


JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS



Education:
Applicable degree(s): Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related field


Experience:


8-12 years with a Master's degree in applicable field. An additional 6 years of experience will be accepted in lieu of degree


Specialized Knowledge/Skills Requirements


Basic Qualifications:



Demonstrated experience with Java and one or more technologies (e.g., Servlets, Hibernate, Spring, Web Services/J2EE) Demonstrated experience with datasets both relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, MS SQL Server, Oracle, Postgres, etc.) Demonstrated experience in continuous integration and delivery tools (e.g., Git, Jenkins, Puppet, Chef, etc.) Demonstrated experience in Web server technologies (Tomcat, Web Logic, IIS, HttpCore)


Additional Qualifications:


Demonstrated experience with Typescript UI technologies Demonstrated experience working in a dynamic working environment
