Business Systems Analyst Location: Wichita, KS Reports to: Business Systems Manager FLSA Status: Salary Exempt Scope: (core functions) The Business Systems Analyst's primary function is to facilitate proper and productive use of IT systems within the Business Unit (BU) for the purpose of reducing overhead and lowering cost. In this role, the BA will work with key members of the BU and IT staff to identify business processes that can potentially be improved through the application of technology. The BA will report to the Business Systems Manager and work with company technology experts to identify the best path for acquiring and implementing the agreed upon technology. The BA will work directly with an Application Developer (AD) to define specific programming requirements or data manipulation requirements that are necessary to support any given project. It is expected that the BA will have technical competency in all the defined skill sets, but the primary objective is to work with functional project leaders to facilitate the development of business process experts that will thoroughly understand the applied technology so that the company will continue to make gains in that business element following completion of the project. Essential Functions: Define the best technology to use for the stated goal. Develop the most efficient process for applying the technology. Define the parameters for any custom software development that is required. Assist with documenting the agreed upon process. Assist with training end users to utilize the process. Troubleshoot errors and correct data, programs, and processes as necessary to insure successful operation of the business. Participate as a key member of the BU IT steering committee to assist with identifying strategic IT projects for the BU. Assist with recommendations to the steering committee regarding existing or potential technologies that will help with achieving goals. Partner with company technology experts to identify the best path for acquiring and implementing the agreed upon technology. Partner with an Application Developer (AD) to define specific programming requirements or data manipulation requirements that are necessary to support any given project. Assist the functional team and team leader with developing a project implementation plan and coordinating resources between the BU, IT, and training or consulting vendors. Identify and educate key BU stakeholders regarding the roles and responsibilities for a successful technology implementation, help to coordinate activities of project participants, participate in regular project meetings, update stakeholders with project status, and communicate issues that might prevent a successful project implementation to BU and IT management. During the course of any project implementation, the BA may perform software evaluation, business process development, case testing, training, data migration, or software development as necessary to support the defined projects. Minimum Qualifications: EDUCATION: 4-year Bachelor's Degree in Computer Sciences, Information Systems, Engineering or other related field, required. Master's Degree, preferred. EXPERIENCE: 7 - 10 years proven experience in requirements elicitation and management, required. Vantage 8/Epicor 9 ERP implementation and/or development (ICE, Customizations, Service Connect, SDK/API, BPM's Report) experience, required. SDLC/technical project management experience, required. .net Web Application (C#/VB) development, required.
