Our client is developing a next generation data analytics platform to support portfolio management and investment selection process.
A core component of the platform is the analysis of the portfolio, external investment managers and the ad hoc analysis of market sectors.
We are seeking an experienced database developer and architect with deep relational database, data warehouse, cloud database and financial analytics experience to help build our platform.
This role reports to the Chief Technology Officer.
The Database Architect / Developer will be critical to the design and development of all data storage, retrieval and analytics supporting portfolio management, portfolio analysis and manager selection.
The Architect is responsible for new application development, enhancing existing applications as well as ongoing support.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides hands on development expertise and leadership in product development with functional capability focus on investment portfolio management and investment selection
Takes a lead role in all phases of application development, including requirements gathering, analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment
Evaluates and selects the appropriate technology to support the analytical and data storage business needs of the company
Coordinates and prioritizes tasks within the software development lifecycle in conjunction with the entire software team.
Is a database leader who contributes to peer code reviews and helps increase the database skills of the entire team
Contributes to the ongoing enhancement of DevOps processes and procedures
Leads development of test plans and provides technical support in all phases of testing and QA.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or other relevant discipline and a minimum of five years related experience required.
Expert proficiency with SQL development experience including SQL Server
Experience with cloud-based databases such as Snowflake, Google BigQuery or Amazon RDS
Experience with No-SQL stores including search stores preferred.
Experience with data pipelines and data transformations
Experience with AWS & cloud services
Familiar with automated testing, DevOps and CI/CD
