It is a great place to work with lots of super smart people and they treat their employees well. I worked there when they were undergoing rapid growth, which was exciting to be a part of.
I personally didn't like working in the semiconductor industry so I decided to leave Applied because of that not because there was anything wrong with the company.
The company treats their employees well. There were great healthcare benefits and other general benefits such as profit sharing and employee stock purchase as well as tuition reimbursement. I traveled a lot for the company and they let you stay at nice hotels and sometimes fly employees international business class.
I was highly visible and cross-functional. I enjoyed how this permitted me to work with a variety of professionals. The company has a large global presence, I enjoyed how I was able to work with international stakeholders remotely or by going there in person.
I disliked the archaic systems, tools, and databases that made it difficult to find and track information. I also disliked the lack of a community feel, the corporate culture was almost non-existent.
My favorite benefit was the respect of work/life balance and allowing employees to work remotely when needed.
The environment, the diversity, the inclusion, there is so much that I can't list it all.
The commute is horrible. It takes me an hour to get to work and 1&1/2 hours to get home in normal traffic.
Getting to know so many people from so many different back grounds, cultures, & ethnicities. You have an opportunity to really get to know the people you work with and understand more about people from different countries.
There was a lot of energy at the company. The company was growing, and there were a lot of new things happening, so that was exciting.
There was no visibility as to how my work and contribution was helping the company or business, so there was not much incentives to work hard.
I got to travel around to visit many customers internationally and frequently so that was fun for a recent college grads!

Great hours, family/life balance
They do NOT care about their employees. Very biased!
Paid holiday/time off
Global company with a lot of career opportunities.
Sometimes the size of the company made it challenge to get things done in a timely manner.
The Paid Time Off (PTO) system.
