Position Description
As a CNC Milling Machinist, you will be responsible for working within the framework of a team and performing the following activities:
* Set up and operate 3, 4 and 5 axis CNC milling machines according to instructions and engineering drawings
* Change tools and make offset adjustments
* Interpret blueprint dimensions
* Understand and follow machining policies and instructions (MI),QSR, ISO, SOP's work rules and safety guidelines
* Meet schedules and maintain quality standards
Position Requirements
This position requires the following skills and attributes:
* A minimum of 3-5 years work experience related to the set-up and operation of CNC milling machines
* Experience interpreting blueprint dimensions and using measuring tools
* Working knowledge of MI's, QSR, ISO, SOP's, work rules and safety guidelines
* Ability to read, write and speak in English
* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
* Strong interpersonal skills
Preferred
* Experience with Makino, HAAS, and DMG milling machines is a plus
* Having their own tools is a plus (precision and hand tools)
Benefits
The base compensation range for this role is $20 - $33 / hour for the position in California. **Principle Responsibilities**
+ Operate and Set-up CNC machines within specified tolerances following work instructions and in accordance with machine programs and engineering drawings.
+ Perform difficult CNC Machinist work including progressive machining of a variety of parts and different metals where very close tolerances must be maintained.
+ Change dull tooling, and/or make minor offsets and adjustments as needed for tooling wear.
+ Ensure product quality is achieved by working to operator owned quality (OOQ) standards and requirements including using a range of measuring equipment and interpreting readings.
+ Perform routine maintenance as per daily machine checklist and adhere to PM schedule.
+ Perform hand finishing.
+ Always Follow Good Manufacturing and Good Document Practices (GMP/GDP) including completion of job routers/ cards.
+ Ensure safe working practices are carried out to minimize risks to the job holder and/or colleagues, including identifying and reporting Safety, Health & Environmental issues.
+ Achieve set productivity targets and identify ways of improving productivity.
+ Record all activities in a timely manner on the job tracking system.
+ Identify and support Continuous Improvement activities.
+ Identify and escalate manufacturing issues to the Team Leader and/or Supervisor, participating in the resolution as required.

**Qualification Requirements**
**Credentials/Experience:**

+ Experience of working in a production environment, preferred

What You Will Do
Identify different types of tooling such as drills, end mills, reamers and inserts and know how to properly use them.
Ensure that parts are efficiently and accurately inspected, deburred, properly tagged and moved to the next operation.

POSITION SUMMARY

* Understanding proper cutting tool selection for each operation and type of material
* Learn basic manual milling and lathe practices and safety
* Learn basic use of MasterCam
* Loading parts into CNC machines properly and safely

* Knowledge of G code for editing and adjusting programs at machine
* Deburring and cleaning parts.
* Lap parts.
