He received the 2018 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award.

John has been involved in successful startups from formation to IPO. He worked in engineering at NASA, and SGI. He helped start internet advertising pioneer NetGravity in 1995 and was an early employee at VMware in 1999. In 2011 he co-founded AppLovin, a market leader in mobile app advertising.

Basil Shikin leads teams responsible for building AppLovin’s secure and highly scalable distributed systems, which help support our worldwide growth. Basil played a critical role in building and optimizing the AppLovin platform, which powers many of today’s most popular mobile games. Before joining AppLovin, Basil was a Senior Software Engineer at DeviceAnywhere.

Elena is a finance/accounting professional with an extensive technology experience and a diverse corporate/Big4 auditing and consulting background in the US and internationally.

Beginning June 2014, Elena joined Lyft as a Controller.

Elena worked at RPX Corporation (Nasdaq: RPXC) as a Finance Director with a wide range of responsibilities including M&A support, technical accounting, financial analysis/reporting and establishing and running an enterprise-wide SOX compliance program.

Elena is a former Director at PwC Transaction Services Group where she led multiple technology M&A transactions ranging from start-up companies to multi-billion dollar acquisitions. She provided accounting advice to technology clients in connection with domestic and cross-border transactions, complex revenue arrangements, debt and equity financing, advised clients on implementation of new accounting standards (new revenue recognition guidance for multiple-element revenue arrangements, FAS 167, FAS 157) and other complex accounting matters.

Prior to joining Transaction Services Group, Elena acquired extensive experience as an audit manager for technology clients at PwC Silicon Valley Office. Her areas of expertise included expensive involvement with initial and secondary public offerings, SEC reporting, complex technical accounting matters, SOX compliance and audit. Elena started her Big 4 career in 1997 at PwC office in Moscow, Russia and acquired significant IFRS and London Stock Exchange reporting experience before reallocating to PwC Silicon Valley office in 2000.

Katie Jansen joined AppLovin in 2012 and has since been named by Business Insider as one of the most powerful women in mobile advertising. She was previously Vice President of Marketing at PlayFirst, a mobile gaming publisher acquired by Glu in 2014. Katie is an advocate for women in tech and workplace equality. She serves as a marketing advisor to organizations such as Women 2.0 and Women in Wireless and mentors women in technology.
