We are seeking a full-time Sr Certified Appraiser (with Team Lead potential) to join our AgCountry team.

Team Lead provides leadership for assigned staff including performance management, identification of training needs and personal developmental plans. This role will work with our Southern Minnesota marketplace. Preferred locations are Willmar, MN or Redwood Falls, MN. Other office locations or an option for hybrid work from home available as well to the right candidate.

This individual will conduct high quality real estate appraisals responsively to support client appraisal needs as regulated by state law and in compliance with the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP), collect real estate sales information to support appraisal and asset valuation, complete complex appraisals of agricultural properties with minimal supervision and in compliance with FCA regulations, and prepare real estate value studies to support benchmark values. Successful candidates will also support outside fee appraisal services that meet state and industry standards. Membership with a nationally recognized professional appraiser's organization is required.

Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Agricultural Economics, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Five (5) or more years of experience in the area of real estate appraisal with emphasis on appraising agricultural producing properties and/or Agricultural Chattel. General Real Estate Appraiser Certification required. (State of Texas preferred but not required)

Skill Requirements

General knowledge of accounting/financial systems. Specialized knowledge of property and collateral appraisal methods. Specialized knowledge of real estate instruments and records. Skill in research and analysis of public records. Skill in oral and written communication. Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Office applications. Ability to perform appraisals of agricultural producing properties under limited supervision. Ability to communicate complex information to a non-technical audience.

Job Scope

Coordinates appraisal activities and performs appraisals for large and/or complex loans that may involve specialized property, litigation, and/or foreclosure. Has appreciable latitude for decision making. Works under minimum supervision. Provides guidance to less-senior appraisers and support personnel.

Essential Functions

• Prepares valuations or appraisals for properties that involve large and/or complex loans, specialized or highly improved properties, loans in litigation, foreclosure or bankruptcy and acquired properties. May coordinate appraisals and collateral evaluation standards and procedures on properties and other collateral throughout the association's territory.
• Maintains comparable sales data, current improvement cost data, and other resource information required to make accurate evaluations. Communicates findings regarding land chattel property value trends to management.
• May review appraisals performed by outside fee appraisers to ensure compliance with USPAP and association collateral evaluation standards.
• Assists with development of appraisal standards, guidelines and procedures consistent with sound appraisal practices.
• Identifies and attends professional educational courses, documents valuation assignments and work experience as required by the state's certification regulations.
• Offers cost effective appraisals and relates services.
• Assists in monitoring the standards of conduct within the collateral risk area. Ensure that all policies, procedures and regulations are adhered to as required.

Minimum Qualifications
Certified residential and FHA-approved appraiser for the state in which appraisals are completed Knowledge of GSE, USPAP, Dodd-Frank, and applicable state licensure requirements Geographically competent in the market area for 1 year Demonstrated ability to integrate appraisal theory along with industry standard practices/techniques to develop credible assignment results No proven disciplinary action on license in which appraisals are complete Demonstrated proficiency with all appraisal types, including single family, condominium, and multi-family properties Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time Must be able to climb ladders and/or access crawl spaces Ability to work outside of normal working hours and on weekends

5 years of direct field experience as a licensed/certified appraiser Working knowledge of specialty appraisal types, including manufacture homes, Real Estate Owned (REO), and desk/field reviews Understanding of FHA and USDA requirements Proficiency with appraisal software and other industry-standard technologies
