This permanent, full-time position is located in Albuquerque, NM. The Mechatronics & Robotics Apprentice (MRA) will learn to combine electronic, mechanical, computer and control skills at the workplace. During on-the-job learning (OJL) you will work with complex high-performance manufacturing systems and will learn to analyze, troubleshoot, and repair systems to maintain process efficiency. The focus of this role is to learn the skills and abilities to ensure safety regulations and policies are adhered to, assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of the automated packaging and distribution equipment, ensure preventative maintenance is conducted on time to a high standard, and provide high levels of equipment availability through continuous improvement.
Amazon MRA apprentices are engaged in the assembly and maintenance of complex machines, plants, and systems in the Reliability & Maintenance Engineering sector or in organizations which purchase and operate such mechatronic systems. Apprentices are paired with journeyworkers to carry out their work at various facilities, including high automation and robotics facilities in connection with service operations. They are expected to work on the basis of technical documents and instructions and carry out their work in compliance with the relevant provisions and safety regulations.
The successful candidate is an effective communicator, works well in a team, and is self-motivated. They should have the ability to work collaboratively and coordinate their activities with upstream and downstream operations partners. In addition to developing your skills, you will be mentored by senior technicians in order to grow in your role.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform preventative/predictive maintenance of conveyance equipment using the appropriate job plans, procedures, and manuals.
* Maintain and repair distribution center racking.
* Complete preventative maintenance routines, documentation, and procedures.
* Track and store department inventory, including spare parts.
* Develop and maintain positive working relationships across all levels of the organization.
* Conduct maintenance and basic troubleshooting of robotics and robotic work cells.
* Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems related to all material handling equipment components.
* Maintain and troubleshoot motors, photo eyes, relays, proximity sensors, solenoids, motor starters, tachs, etc.
* Assist in mentoring junior technicians by providing guidance and directions to help them develop their skill set.
* Assist with basic electronics/Programmable Logic Controllers troubleshooting.

Job Description
Apprentices assist in many aspects of patient care and clinical operation of the clinic and are trained in various tasks including patient communication and scheduling, taking vitals, drawing blood, preparing blood and urine samples for lab work, assisting in procedures, performing EKGs, and attending to harm reduction (syringe exchange) clients. Apprentices play a major role in running the clinic. They help to open and close the clinic, serve as language interpreters for clinicians who require interpretation once trained, and perform a variety of administrative and clerical duties in addition to direct patient contact.

Casa de Salud works with 80-85% monolingual Spanish speakers. To best serve this population, our apprentices are expected to speak both Spanish and English. We also require a commitment of one year (12 months) in the program. Upon completing the year in the program, apprentices are eligible for letters of recommendation for their programs of study and often obtain health certifications, such as HIPAA certification, BBP certification, and harm reduction certification. Those who are successful and choose to remain in the program will be eligible for employment at Casa de Salud and/or promotion to senior apprenticeship.
We do not require any prior experience working in a clinical setting nor do we require that applicants major in science/health programs.
