SUMMARY:
Assist students with classroom activities. Implements the teacher's instructional plan. Performs tutoring, both individually and with small groups to ensure mastery of content. These grant funded internships will be filled by students currently in the P-TEACH program who will work with students in a variety of settings from PreK-12th grade as determined by the coordinator. Student apprentices will receive direct support and mentoring from a dedicated Success Coach.

JOB TASK DESCRIPTION:
1. Assist students with classroom activities. Implements the teacher's instructional plan. Performs tutoring, both individually and with small groups to ensure mastery of content. Responsibilities include implementation of age-appropriate educational activities; provide direction and guidance to students; support with student discipline; ensure student safety and security; communicate with appropriate stakeholders; maintain a clean and orderly classroom environment; support students as they move through daily schedules.
2. Assist teachers in preparing materials, assistance in administering assessments, grading and attendance. Assists with paperwork and documentation as needed.
3. Monitors students during breaks, recess, time outs, on field trips, etc.
4. Assists with special projects. May administer first aide and/or assist students to health clinic.
5. Attend applicable meetings /or training determined by the Success Coach or coordinator.
6. Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE:
• Must be enrolled in the Adams 12 P-Teach Program.

SALARY INFORMATION:
All Classified positions are paid on an hourly basis. All Newly hired classified employees are placed initially on Step 1 of the pay grade for their position. Classified employees can advance an additional 7 steps (maximum Step 8) based on their previous experience. Final hourly placement on the Classified Salary schedule is dependent on the Grade Level for the position being posted and employees' previous work experience. “Grade” refers to position or job classification and “Step” refers to the number of work experience credit or service years. The Carpenter - Entry Level (Apprentice) is an introductory role within the Carpenter Major Category, focused on learning techniques for steel framing, window installation, floor installation, and Hardi Board/siding installation for modular homes at Mytikas Steel's production facility. Cross-trained to perform tasks in four interchangeable subcategories-Steel Framer, Window Installer, Floor Installer, and Hardi Board/Siding Installer (Interior & Exterior)-the Apprentice assists with basic tasks, develops an understanding of blueprints and safety protocols, and supports production under close supervision. This role is ideal for individuals eager to start a career in carpentry and construction trades.

Steel Framer: Learn to measure, cut, and assemble steel wall frames.
Window Installer: Learn to install windows with proper alignment and sealing.
Floor Installer: Learn to install flooring materials (e.g., laminate, tile, hardwood).
Hardi Board/Siding Installer (Interior & Exterior): Learn to measure, cut, and secure Hardi Board panels for interior and exterior applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Steel Framer Tasks:
Learn steel framing techniques and the use of tools for measuring, cutting, and assembling wall frames.
Assist experienced framers with preparing and installing steel frames.
Understand and interpret basic blueprints and safety protocols for framing.
Window Installer Tasks:
Learn window installation techniques, including measuring, aligning, and sealing windows.
Assist with preparing and installing windows in modular homes.
Understand installation guidelines and safety protocols for window work.
Floor Installer Tasks:
Learn flooring installation techniques, including measuring, cutting, and securing materials.
Assist with preparing and installing flooring (e.g., laminate, tile, hardwood) in modular homes.
Understand blueprints and safety protocols for flooring tasks.
Hardi Board/Siding Installer Tasks:
Learn Hardi Board installation techniques and the use of tools for measuring, cutting, and securing panels.
Assist with preparing and installing Hardi Board panels for interior and exterior applications.
Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean workspace.
General Responsibilities:
Follow safety guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and hazard prevention.
Support maintenance of tools, equipment, and a clean, safe workspace.
Collaborate with team members to learn production processes and contribute to team goals.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in carpentry, construction, or related fields is a plus.
Experience: No prior experience required; basic exposure to carpentry, construction, or installation work is an advantage.
Technical Skills:
Willingness to learn techniques for steel framing, window installation, floor installation, and Hardi Board/siding installation.
Basic understanding of tools and equipment or readiness to learn maintenance procedures.
Soft Skills:
Strong willingness to learn and follow instructions.
Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Attention to detail and commitment to safety.
Certifications: None required; OSHA safety training or related certifications (e.g., NCCER) are a plus.
