Work will consist of plan layout, alterations, additions and /or repairs of electrical systems, light fixtures, conductors and associated materials and equipment within the commercial, industrial electrical industry. This position reports to the Superintendent. Major Duties and Responsibilities Inspect, repairs, installs, service and maintains electrical systems and sub systems including conduit and duct systems, lighting and power circuits, transformers, control equipment, switches, switchboards, fixtures and bell and buzzer systems; works from plans, drawings, blueprints or specifications. Install new or modified electrical installations consistent with local and national codes. Installs or replaces necessary interior and exterior wiring for equipment, appliances and lighting. Assist in the design, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of various programmable logical controller (PLC) hardware systems. Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles and installs electrical conduit. Follow diagrams, blueprints and interrupt specifications. Demonstrate safe work habits and proper care of equipment and tools. Plan electrical installations to minimize waste of materials. Prepare and present sketches showing location of wiring and equipment. Willing to be on-call in case of emergency. Performs related duties and responsibilities as required. Minimum Qualifications Technical training in electrical systems; and, four (4) years of experience as an electrician; which includes duties and responsibilities in industrial and controls instrumentation.
