About the Role Role Purpose Maintenance Electrician is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and uninterrupted functioning of a facility's electrical systems and equipment through a mix of preventative maintenance, routine inspections, and emergency repairs. Essential Skills & Experience Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with completion of a technical training program in electrical maintenance or an electrician's apprenticeship. License/Certification: A journeyman electrician license is typically required. A valid driver's license required. Experience: Several years of progressively responsible experience in the electrical trade, with a thorough working knowledge of electrical codes for installation and maintenance. Duties and Responsibilities Must be fully qualified and capable of working directly with project management to understand and evaluate scheduled electrical work needed to complete projects in a timely manner. Must be capable of performing all duties associated with the crew lead position and in addition. We will be looking to you to run your own crew with a helper installing power walls and solar systems. By the end of the 90 days, you will be required to take a proficiency test. Electrical apprentices are able to earn a paycheck while learning the trade through firsthand experience. This position has a clear career path to becoming an electrician with the potential and opportunity to become a manager of a team and larger scope of work. Position Responsibilities The electrical apprentice is partnered with a licensed journeyman electrician and has on-the-job training (OJT) to become an electrician. You'll help perform electrical installations of a multifamily and commercial nature. Learn and perform all scopes of large-scale projects, from distribution to rough in, trim and deck work. Participate in official apprenticeship program and attend classes as required.
