POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Electrician provides support to plant operations and will trouble-shoot, repair, program, replace, maintain, and install electrical/electronic systems for production related equipment and building utilities within the facility. Responsibilities include following all local, state, and federal electrical codes. Documentation of problems and maintenance of equipment and facility systems are also required.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Trains others as required in any phase of electrical skills. Prepares workstation, installs, repairs and wires all the electrical and electronic apparatus, devices, and circuits throughout the plant, in accordance with national electrical code requirements.
Dismantles, inspects, determines source of trouble, repairs, adjusts, or replaces faulty parts and wiring on machinery, equipment, motors, generators, power distribution and control panels, circuit breakers, rectifiers, electronic devices, etc. Reassembles, tests, and adjusts for safe and proper operation.
Makes power cable splices and works hot lines as required. Fabricates brackets and miscellaneous parts, solders, silver solders and braces as required. Cuts, threads and installs conduit. Removes and replaces obstructions, parts and equipment to gain access to trouble areas and fulfill job duties.
Completely wires and maintains building and structures, including lighting fixtures. Computes load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment. Performs preventative maintenance. Required climbing. Keeps own work area and equipment clean and orderly. Maintains necessary records. Works from schematics, wiring diagrams, prints, written and verbal instruction
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Three or more years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Work Orders consist of various duties in the installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures. Complete time and material usage reports. Assist in maintaining material stock for related work. Review of completed work and cleanup of work areas upon completion.
Interpret and update panel schedules and system drawings. Installs, tests, and troubleshoots circuits and equipment using appropriate tools and instruments. Ensure all work meets the current National Electric Code.
Maintain and repair campus distribution substations. Primary distribution is 23kV, Secondary 4160V. Maintain and test all dry and oil-filled transformers. Locate and identify underground electricity for OUPS. Locate underground faults and make repairs.
Assist with testing, inspection, and repair of campus fire alarm systems.
Plan layouts and installation of conduits for campus surveillance and other low-voltage electronic systems. Assist project managers and contractors with project electrical needs.
5% Respond to electrical emergencies or outages during off shift periods. Provide coverage and electrical support for campus and sporting events.

Education:
Requires high school diploma or GED and successful completion of the 3rd year of the designated electrical apprenticeship program for electricians or a combination of education from a recognized school and electrician experience totaling 6 years or more.
Licenses/Certifications/Requirements:

Experience:
Requires a minimum of 4 years performing the work of an electrician. Ability to operate and use standard powered and nonpowered electrical equipment required. Summary: The Plant Maintenance Electrician will work in our Streetsboro Manufacturing plant. There are multiple types and sizes of equipment supporting productions, testing, assembly, machining, prototyping, plus plant -equipment and infrastructure. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for equipment installs, maintains equipment systems, repairs machinery, support equipment, physical structures, pipe systems and electrical systems. Must follow company quality and environmental policy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Troubleshoots basic electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanic problems
Troubleshoots Programmable Logic Controllers, Relay Logic and Complex Hydraulic systems
Runs pip, conduit and pulls wire
Changes pumps, motors and other mechanical problems
Performs preventive maintenance on all facilities, buildings and equipment as required
Answers break down calls
Responsible for assuring that product meets customer quality expectations, functional requirements, and process consistency by utilizing work instructions and servicing equipment for optimum uptime
Responsible for following lock-out/tag-out and confined spaced policies/procedures
Communication all key events and information to supervisor to assure continuity in safety, quality and productivity
Must maintain a clean and safe work area/equipment
