Key Responsibilities Electrical Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform routine and emergency electrical maintenance on all production equipment and systems (e.g., packaging machines, conveyors, HVAC systems, and control panels). Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical faults in machinery and equipment, including motors, drives, sensors, relays, and PLCs. Ensure electrical systems are operating within specified voltage, current, and safety parameters. Preventive Maintenance: Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance on electrical equipment to reduce downtime and increase equipment lifespan. Maintain an up-to-date record of maintenance activities, work orders, and repairs. System Upgrades & Modifications: Assist in the installation and commissioning of new electrical systems or upgrades to existing equipment. Work with the engineering team to improve and modify electrical systems to optimize performance. Safety & Compliance: Ensure all work adheres to industry safety standards, electrical codes, and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) regulations. Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and other safety protocols when performing maintenance tasks. Participate in safety training and contribute to a safety-first environment. Collaboration & Support: Work closely with production and engineering teams to resolve electrical issues that may impact production schedules. Provide technical support and training to other maintenance staff or production employees as needed. Assist in the diagnosis and resolution of mechanical and pneumatic issues where electrical systems may be involved. Documentation & Reporting: Complete and maintain detailed maintenance logs, service records, and equipment specifications. Monitor inventory levels of electrical parts and supplies and communicate needs to the Maintenance Supervisor. Qualifications Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field preferred. Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing environment (pharmaceutical packaging experience a plus). Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical circuits, controls, and PLC systems Skills & Knowledge: Strong understanding of electrical theory, controls, and industrial automation systems. Familiarity with PLC programming and troubleshooting (Siemens, Allen Bradley, or equivalent). Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and manuals. Knowledge of industry safety standards, including OSHA regulations and lockout/tagout procedures. Experience with preventive maintenance programs and techniques. Certifications(Preferred): Electrical or Industrial Maintenance certification (e.g., Journeyman Electrician, Certified Maintenance Technician). NATURE & SCOPE Reports to the Maintenance Group Leader. The Master Electrician as a technical leader shares responsibility for the department goals and objectives. Additionally, he / she may participate on cross functional and regional teams. KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS Demonstrated leadership skills including delegation and follow-up. Ability to work independently and exhibits sound judgment. Possess Master Electrician License. Competent in industrial power distribution, motor controls, NEC requirements for 480v/240v/277v, PLC's and ladder logic, VFD's, electrical trouble shooting, the ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, blue prints; shop mathematics and drafting skills. Work effective with PM and Work Order systems to effectively allocate resources Ability to lead small groups. Strong organization skills including prioritizing to meet customer expectations, smart allocation of resources, and the ability to translate BAC strategy into individual team member actions. Ability to mentor and train junior technicians. Adjusts coaching style to needs of the individual. Effective written communication including documentation of processes, and the communication of those processes with fellow mechanics, supervisors, project engineers, and stake holders. Demonstrated oral communication skills including the ability to communicate professionally with BAC customer and co-workers. Competence in speaking in front of groups and giving presentations. Organizational savvy that leverages contacts and relationships to achieve team goals. Demonstrate strong problem solving skills and uses consistent root cause methodology. Quickly adopts technology and is competent in the use of BAC software tools, databases, cloud-based applications, and Microsoft Office products. Competency with MS Excel including creating spreadsheets, updating data and generating metrics including graphs, charts, and trendlines. Understands and adheres to LEAN principles in the area. Exposures include elevated noise levels associated with a manufacturing environment, fluctuations in temperature ambient conditions as well as intermittent exposure to the weather in and about the yard and dock areas. Occasional weekend work is typical and availability is expected for any of the three operating shifts.
