Key Responsibilities and Duties
Installation & Upgrades: Install, repair, and upgrade various residential electrical systems, including lighting, circuits, outlets, switches, panel boxes, sub-panels, ceiling fans, and whole-house surge protection.
Troubleshooting & Diagnosis: Promptly and accurately diagnose complex electrical problems, shorts, faults, and failures in wiring and systems using appropriate testing equipment (e.g., volt-meters, circuit tracers).
Service & Repair: Perform service calls for electrical repairs, replacements, and routine maintenance tasks, ensuring all work meets rigorous safety standards.
Code Compliance: Strictly adhere to the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all local, state, and national building codes, regulations, and safety standards (OSHA).
Blueprint & Wiring Interpretation: Read, interpret, and follow blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics to ensure correct installation methods.
Customer Experience: Clearly communicate the diagnosis, required scope of work, repair options, and potential costs to homeowners in a professional and educational manner. Secure permits and coordinate inspections as needed.
Documentation: Accurately complete work orders, invoices, material logs, and time records using company-provided technology.
Emergency Response: Participate in the on-call rotation to provide timely, after-hours emergency electrical service to clients.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications
Licensure: Current Journeyman or Master Electrician License valid in the state of Kansas & Missouri is required.
Technical Knowledge: Strong, comprehensive working knowledge of residential electrical distribution, 120/240V systems, grounding, bonding, and NEC requirements.
Tools & Equipment: Proficiency in using standard electrical tools, testing equipment (multi-meters, testers), and power tools necessary for installation and service.
Communication: Excellent verbal communication and professional interaction skills with team members and homeowners.
Mobility: Valid state-issued Driver's License and a clean driving record.
Physical Stamina: Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, work at heights, and maneuver in tight/confined spaces (attics, crawlspaces).
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum of 1 year of verifiable experience specifically performing residential electrical service and installation work.
Experience with smart home automation and low-voltage systems.
Familiarity with Electric Vehicle (EV) charger installation and generator setup.
Formal completion of an accredited electrical apprenticeship program.
