Job Details:

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
Responsible for assembly, installation, maintenance and testing of electrical equipment and wiring systems in commercial, industrial and large multi-family settings.
Prepares work area for installation of equipment.
Installs or helps install electrical components.
Connects wiring and equipment as per code and job specification.
Operates equipment only if trained and certified to operate. (Note: Powder activated tools, and JLG lifts and other operations that may require certification and training before operating).
Sets up and operates tools such as hydraulic benders, power threaders, power pullers and cable vacuum systems.
Able to read blueprints and electrical drawings and install as specified.
Verify dimensions, alignments and clearances per drawings or plans.
Secure and lock up equipment after use.
Journeyman Trade Certification in a related Construction trade will be considered highly desirable.
A proven track record of delivering safe projects on schedule and within budget.
Excellent working knowledge of the Building Codes.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Inspect/repair/replace variable frequency drives and 3-phase pumps at any HP, change out pumps/motors greater than 1 HP, and single-phase.
Ability to interpret blueprints and schematic drawings.
The employee in this position may be required to work overtime after 4 pm, shift work, and be on a rotating standby for emergencies during non-business hours, including when the university is closed and/or other events after 5 pm on weekdays, weekends, and holidays when management deems necessary. The ability to perform snow and ice removal tasks and respond at any time of the day or night when scheduled by management, regardless of weather, will be required.
Perform other assigned duties related to operations, maintenance, and renovations to buildings and equipment, such as preventive maintenance, light duty carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, and other miscellaneous repairs and maintenance activities; and respond to emergency and urgent work.
Must use appropriate personal protective equipment as required (gloves, safety glasses, etc.). These items are provided and not for personal use. This position regularly stands, bends, stoops, lifts above the shoulders, is heavy in manual labor, and requires the physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and in excess of 50 pounds occasionally.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
* Assist in the performance of acceptance and installation tests on protection, control, and measurement devices and associated equipment in stations.
* Test protection &control devices and equipment periodically and as required.
* Calibrate protection & control devices and equipment on a pre-established schedule and as required.
* Assist with diagnosis of trouble, mis-operation, or damage of equipment and assist with corrective action to affect repair and prevent recurrence.
* Operate a computer device to test, calibrate, and retrieve data from protection & control and devices.
* Assist in the installation, maintenance, and operation of all power line carriers, station SCADA, and associated communications equipment or cables as assigned.
* Perform switching under direct supervision of qualified personnel following direction of the proper operating authority.
* Assist in the installation, maintenance, and operation of any new and added equipment or systems as assigned.
* Maintain test equipment and automotive equipment in good working order so that work can be performed safely and efficiently anywhere throughout the System.
* Prepare and maintain accurate records, reports and drawings as required.

* Perform all duties in accordance with the Company's safety rules and operating regulations, NERC and environmental compliance, and practices.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
Education: Associate's degree in electrical engineering technology, electronic technology, or related technology field.
Experience: No previous work experience required. Must have the ability and desire to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to perform the duties and/or responsibilities of the key job (P & C Electrician A) in this family and be qualified through demonstration, examination and/or performance appraisal as determined by the Company. Must live within 30 minutes of the service territory. Considerable travel and overtime may be required to complete work assignments. Must successfully complete Physical Abilities Test (PAT).
License/Certification: Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license and must meet all vehicle operation requirements as designated by federal and/or state law.
OTHER MUST HAVES:

- Prepares sketches showing location of wiring and equipment or follows diagrams or blueprints insuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring.
- Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles and installs electrical conduit using such tools as a hacksaw, pipe threader, rules and conduit benders.
- Pulls wiring through conduit, assisted by helper.
- Splices wires by stripping insulation from terminal leads with knife or pliers, twisting or soldering wires together and applying tape or terminal caps.
- Connects wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment using hand tools.
- Installs control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays and circuit- breaker panels, and fastens in place with crews or bolts using hand or power tools.
- Connects power cables to equipment and installs grounding leads.
- Test continuity of circuit to insure electrical compatibility and safety of components using testing instruments such as ohmmeter, battery and buzzer and oscilloscope.
- Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
- Disassembles and repairs defective electrical equipment or systems.
- Load, transport and unload material, tools, equipment and supplies.
- Maintains tools and equipment.
- Be able to distinguish colors.
- Knowledge of certain procedures such as LOTO, etc.
- Responsible for observing and complying with all safety and project rules. Performs other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
-May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.

Position Summary
Under general direction, the part-time Electrician performs journeyman electrician level and leadwork duties in the technical operation, maintenance and repair of electrical generating equipment, fire and smoke detection system, HVAC, and Building Automation systems, & auxiliary systems facility wide. With support of Engineering staff, the part-time Electrician will support electrical projects in all buildings.
This role will pay an hourly rate of $25.00

Responsibilities
Track daily productivity as designated by supervisor via allocation sheets, daily logs and micro main.
Communicate arrival, location and departure with Electrician supervisor.
Clearly, effectively and timely communicate work issues with staff.
Routinely test and maintain emergency generator and lighting.
Responsible for maintenance on venue lighting fixtures - including upgrades and replacements as designated by supervisor.
Installs and maintains show power for exhibit hall and arena power distribution
Troubleshoot parking gate problems.
Maintain all electric cords, and other equipment.
Maintain clearance around electric panels, transformers, etc.
Provide excellent customer service assistance to all internal and external clients.
Operate, configure, program zones/ groups, create reports on Square D Power Link/ Power Logic system.
Other duties as required.
Qualifications
Must possess High School diploma, GED or equivalent.
Completed 5 Year Electrical Apprentice school.
Licensed Journeyman Electrical; Master Electrician License highly desirable.
Demonstrated experience with maintenance and repair of electrical power generating equipment and auxiliary highly desirable.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Possession of, or ability to obtain a valid driver's license.
Must be able to report for emergencies as needed.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in the English language, both orally and in writing.
Must be available to work nights, weekends and holidays.
