Job Details:

Responsible for assembly, installation, maintenance and testing of electrical equipment and wiring systems in commercial, industrial and large multi-family settings.

Connects wiring and equipment as per code and job specification.
Operates equipment only if trained and certified to operate. (Note: Powder activated tools, and JLG lifts and other operations that may require certification and training before operating).
Sets up and operates tools such as hydraulic benders, power threaders, power pullers and cable vacuum systems.
Able to read blueprints and electrical drawings and install as specified.
Verify dimensions, alignments and clearances per drawings or plans.
Secure and lock up equipment after use.
Journeyman Trade Certification in a related Construction trade will be considered highly desirable.
A proven track record of delivering safe projects on schedule and within budget.
Excellent working knowledge of the Building Codes.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

The employee in this position may be required to work overtime after 4 pm, shift work, and be on a rotating standby for emergencies during non-business hours, including when the university is closed and/or other events after 5 pm on weekdays, weekends, and holidays when management deems necessary. The ability to perform snow and ice removal tasks and respond at any time of the day or night when scheduled by management, regardless of weather, will be required.
Perform other assigned duties related to operations, maintenance, and renovations to buildings and equipment, such as preventive maintenance, light duty carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, and other miscellaneous repairs and maintenance activities; and respond to emergency and urgent work.
Must use appropriate personal protective equipment as required (gloves, safety glasses, etc.). These items are provided and not for personal use. RESPONSIBILITIES
* Prepares sketches showing location of wiring and equipment or follows diagrams or blueprints insuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring.
* Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles and installs electrical conduit using such tools as a hacksaw, pipe threader, rules and conduit benders.
* Pulls wiring through conduit, assisted by helper.
* Splices wires by stripping insulation from terminal leads with knife or pliers, twisting or soldering wires together and applying tape or terminal caps.
* Connects wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment using hand tools.
* Installs control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays and circuit- breaker panels, and fastens in place with crews or bolts using hand or power tools.
* Connects power cables to equipment and installs grounding leads.
* Test continuity of circuit to insure electrical compatibility and safety of components using testing instruments such as ohmmeter, battery and buzzer and oscilloscope.
* Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
* Disassembles and repairs defective electrical equipment or systems.
* Load, transport and unload material, tools, equipment and supplies.
* Maintains tools and equipment.
* Be able to distinguish colors.
* Knowledge of certain procedures such as LOTO, etc.
* Responsible for observing and complying with all safety and project rules. Performs other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
* May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.

Assist in training new employees, assigning jobs, and check quality of others' work.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
Perform work in a professional and safe manner, report unsafe work practices
Assemble electrical/mechanical subassemblies from electrical diagrams, drawings, P&IDs or verbal instructions.
Organize and coordinate office/employee functions.
Terminate electrical devices on equipment, Wire Junction Boxes, Burner Management systems, run conduit, and point to point testing in Class 1 Div 1 and Class 1 Div 2 area classifications
Perform troubleshooting and testing of electrical systems
PLC programming a plus
Other duties assigned.
Skills/Knowledge
Experience in wiring production equipment which would include but not limited to wiring GPU's, Dehy's,
Awareness of areas of classification (ie. Class 1 Div 1 groups CD, Class 1 Div 2 groups CD), Nema enclosure designations and proper grounding technique.
Ability to read and understand electrical schematics & P&IDs
Familiarity with hand and power tools.
Ability to identify and read values of common components.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, assembly prints, and electronic schematics.
Versed in circuit theory and is able to identify and perform component level troubleshooting.
Advanced soldering, wire crimping skills and working with CLX conduit and cable glands
Education
High School Degree or equivalent.
Experience
7 + years experience as a general electrician that would be required to understand and wire from a schematic/drawing.

Compensation:
$16+ hourly DOE
Responsibilities:
Assemble and install plumbing systems.
Troubleshoot and repair pipe and pipeline systems.
Review blueprints and building codes to determine optimal work procedures.
Maintain and repair septic and commercial sewer systems.
Prepare written work cost estimates for clients.

Qualifications:
