About the Role
This ElectricianApprentice position is a developmental opportunity designed for individuals with little to no prior experience in industrial electrical work to gain hands on experience from the ground up. The role provides hands-on training and mentorship to build foundational skills, with the goal of preparing the apprentice for journey certification attained through the state of Pennsylvania and long-term success in the field.

Travel to various quarry sites to service and maintain electrical systems on heavy machinery
Assist in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment

What Are We Looking For
High school Diploma is required, trade school experience is preferred
Familiarity with tools, equipment, or machinery used in aggregate production or quality control processes
Familiarity with heavy diesel equipment is preferred.
Willingness and ability to learn technical procedures and pursue certification via established school partnership

Apprentice electrician job in Philadelphia, PA
Performs skilled maintenance and repairs and a variety of maintenance and engineering duties for the Facilities Management Department. Assigned to work by the Facilities Management Staff on a regular basis. In addition, this position is called upon to work on projects with other trade mechanics, make rounds and report discrepancies to the Director of Facilities or any Facilities Management Staff. This position will assist with work to ensure that work orders and preventative maintenance work are corrected in a timely and cost-effective manner. Has a general working knowledge of areas of maintenance and repair. This position performs other general maintenance responsibilities not directly related to designated or licensed trade and works independently. Performs maintenance on all facility electrical system components up to and including the secondary distribution panel. Installs and repairs lighting, AC power distribution, switches, receptacles, over current protection, conduit and wire; complete any and all tasks assigned by facilities management team.

High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
Trade School in electrical program Preferred
Experience
2 years experience as an electrician or trade experience directly related Preferred
Licenses
Drivers License Required

What You'll Do:

Safety & Compliance

Advanced Electrical Installation & Maintenance
Execute complex electrical installations with precision, using a range of tools and equipment
Perform specialized maintenance tasks to ensure reliability and quality
Advanced Wiring & Fabrication
Build and wire control panels to support crane and hoist systems
Tackle intricate wiring tasks, such as motor wiring, resistors, push-button stations, and festooning components
Fabricate electrical brackets and supports, showcasing your hands-on expertise
Bend and install rigid conduit to support electrical installations and ensure compliance with safety standards
Troubleshooting & Problem-Solving
Diagnose and resolve challenging electrical issues within crane systems
Employ problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and implement solutions quickly and effectively
Design Implementation & Compliance
Partner with engineering to implement design modifications and ensure alignment with assembly specifications
Equipment Testing & Quality Assurance
Conduct comprehensive testing to confirm the functionality and quality of electrical equipment
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized department conducive to a productive work environment
What We're Looking For:
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an electricianapprenticeship or technical training is preferred
Experience: 7+ years in a heavy equipment manufacturing environment, with 5+ years at a journeyman or Level II position. Hands-on experience in building control panels, bending and installing rigid conduit, and performing advanced electrical installations
Skills: Advanced proficiency in electrical drawings, National Electrical Code, troubleshooting, and mentorship
Certifications: State electrician's license preferred
A safety-focused mindset with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement
A collaborative leader who values teamwork, can offer guidance, and enjoys problem-solving
