The Electrical Technician II will analyze and correct electrical problems and repair and overhaul electrical equipment and controls with limited supervision. They will efficiently respond to line calls and conduct PM's on a regular basis.
Job Responsibilities:
Maintains safe work practices at all times and participates in safety programs.
Must be able to repair or replace all electrical devices including but not limited to: Breaker panels, motor starters, heaters, fuses, lights, AC drives, motors, electrical switches, etc., all in accordance with state and federal codes, including company policies and procedures.
Must be able to maintain a log/work sheet of equipment repairs and problems. Prompt notifications must be entered regarding equipment deficiencies.
Must be able to identify locations of all electrical equipment on site.
Must be competent in troubleshooting all equipment on site with the use of electrical schematics and blueprints.
Must be competent in the use of all plant electrical test equipment.
Must be willing and able to mentor apprentices as needed.
Must assist all other maintenance personnel in the event of a major plant breakdown.
Any other duties assigned.

Valid Limited Maintenance Electrical License for the State of Oregon required.

Skills and Experience:
Must be able to communicate, comprehend, and follow instructions in English (both written and oral).
Must be able to understand the National Electrical Code and the Oregon specialty code pertaining to manufacturing plant systems.
Demonstrate understanding of plant systems and equipment.
Must attend confined space training (attendant, entrant and rescuer) and will be a confined space rescue team member.
Will be a Respirator User and is responsible to meet the qualifications requirements of the Lamb Weston Respiratory Protection Program for the use of Respiratory Protection Equipment (current medical, fit testing, and training).
Will be an Emergency Response Team Member (Hazardous Materials Technician) and will be responsible to meet the qualification requirements per 29 CFR 1910.120 Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (current medical and training).
Must be clean shaven when the Emergency Response Team is activated for an emergency response or responding to emergencies, using an on-site shave kit to use a tight-fitting facepiece. Must be clean
shave for the annual respirator fit test. Mustaches and sideburns are permitted, only if they do not extend into the sealing periphery or interfere with the valve functions of the respirator.
Physical Environment/Demands:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently.
Exposed to a noisy environment that varies from hot to cold in temperature.
Ability to do repetitious arm, wrist and hand movements required for job actions and procedures.
Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment. Have considerable manual dexterity with both hands.
Be able to maneuver in close quarters and climb stairs, ladders, scaffolds and catwalks during the performance of your job.
Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination and good balance to work both at ground level and in high places to perform job duties. Ability to operate work related equipment.

General Purpose

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
* High school graduate or equivalent required.
* Current Washington State Journeyman Electrician License in good standing (This must be reflected in the resume submitted). Preference will be given to 01 license, but other levels will be considered.

**Security, Credentialing, and Eligibility Requirements**
As a national laboratory, PNNL is responsible for adhering to the Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12) and Department of Energy (DOE) Order 473.1A, which require new employees to obtain and maintain a HSPD-12 Personal Identify Verification (PIV) Credential. To obtain this credential, new employees must successfully complete the applicable tier of federal background investigation post hire and receive a favorable federal adjudication. The tier of federal background investigation will be determined by job duties and national security or public trust responsibilities associated with the job. Electrician - Journeyman License or Supervisor License required JOB PURPOSE:
This position will be responsible for the day to day performance of the plant maintenance. This includes overseeing Electrical and Maintenance operations in a safe and efficient manner and includes responsibility for technical training, determining work load, project management and coaching and development of team members. The successful execution of these responsibilities will result in providing a high level of services to the production team; improve plant productivity, which will ultimately result in the success of the Plant.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Electrical License Required - Journeyman License or Supervisor License
Perform tasks and PM's related to Electrical needs of facility
Leads safely by following SOP's, LOTO, PPE's, Fall Protection and Confined Spaces to achieve plant and departmental goals.
Perform metal fabrication, cutting, welding and finishing.
Performs Electrical PM's on Baggers and equipment
Electrical knowledge preferred of bulk flour systems. (Transfer blowers, air-locks, diverter valves, sifters, etc)
PLC Experience preferred - can be trained
Use shop and hand tools safely and properly.
Climb ladders, access platforms from 6 to 75 feet, occasionally.
Lift, push, and pull using proper techniques up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 200 pounds occasionally.
Work in confined spaces, underneath, over and next to moving equipment safely.
Can walk and stand for work periods for up to 10 hours when needed with 2 - 15 minute breaks and 1 half hour lunch break. **Overtime required to cover department absences / work up to 12 hours with 3 - 15 minute breads and 1 half hour lunch break
Ensures compliance with all company policies.
Works in tandem with maintenance/planner to maximize the effectiveness of the maintenance work order system to utilize MP2.
Performs all electrical preventative maintenance on equipment as scheduled
Fill out daily log reports, emergency breakdown reports, work orders, and communication with incoming shift
Ability to work on high voltage and 120 - 480 vac equipment, starters, motors, vfd's, sensors, controllers, photo-eyes, etc
Install, debug and stabilize plant equipment as required
Read Schematics and blue prints in order to interpret, diagnose, and troubleshoot electrical issues to properly and safely repair
Perform electrical repairs and upgrades of machinery and equipment to ensure proper operations
Builds and maintains outstanding employee relations with other departments.
Read and interpret HMI panels to troubleshoot production line faults
Performs electrical and distribution Lock Out / Tag Out method steady with customary safety protocol
Facilitate to ensure all electro and mechanical safety requirements follow Newly Weds Foods and OSHA standards
Ability to climb stairs, ladders and ability to work at heights
